Or you could cash out half and then you have your initial investment back and everything in is pure profit.

I went 10x roi on eth and cashed out.took half as profit and reinvested the other 1/2, which is now up 8x on that.

to summarize, I made 4x profit and returned my initial investment. The other half still invested is at 40x initial investment.

I could be at 80x if had a steadier hand.

But also could have lost it all in a crash.
