Comfy gains addition.

-- Robinhood FAQs --
- VISIT THE WEBSITE FIRST DAMMIT!! - www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
"People" invest your settled funds when you're not using them, just like banks.

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are shit and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using tradingview.com, stockcharts.com, finviz.com, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

Diversify, fuel stocks with crypto money

Crypto has a future but it is definitely like the dot-com bubble in that there are a lot of coins whos evaluation is indefensible.

Take a look at one of the PnDs right now - ARK. Try to do some value vesting on that - look at their "team" and try to find info on them - literally fucking nobodies. Zen has people from onecoin in it (which is a scam) and people here still buy it.

When regulations hit this market (and they will), those companies will go bust and those that survive will have a slow return to norm.
>>
BEHOLD YOUR NEW GOD
>>
>>2311014
people new to crypto (probably new to investing too) don't understand risk. Just because they have made money so far doesn't mean they won't lose all they have in one day. Volatility goes both ways and diversification is the only way to avoid it
>>
>>2311071
Ok, I'd like to talk about AMRS

Here is what I know:

- Stock is super cheap right now, like almost at its 52-wk low cheap, which could mean a very beefy undervaluation
- They have OK cash right now (~1.3 mil) and only .3 of that is tied up (in restriction), BUT that is a HUGE drop in capital from Dec 16 till now, not very good of a sign
- Their assets have HALVED since Dec 2016
- Has 15 mil in debt and no real way that I see to pay that shit off, and an even worse looking total liability for the last quarter of 300mil (NOT GOOD)
- However, they might be able to do it all through revenue as their revenue for the first quarter of 2017 was 12 mil, which is a decent sign but still gives a bad liability/revenue ratio
- Had a comprehensive loss of 37 mil (20mil more than last quarter)

I could go on and on. Besides its diversification (which might be a good or bad thing), and having worked with the gates foundation last year (when they were still healthy), they are getting sued and have had a huge loss this year so far. So what exactly are you betting on? I'd just like to have a discussion on it and not go full "REE YOU DON'T GET IT"

Christ, you're almost there man, just do a little more research.
look at expense trajectory, look at the new product revenue trajectory.
Look deeper into the science.
Look deeper into their manufacturing ramping.
Look at the profit sharing deals they have.
look at the DSM investments.
Keep in mind asset sales (even parts of their science)
The float just shrank, and institutional investors can get in big now.

On the surface theyre ugly due to debt.
They've already made big chips in the debt
the last 3 years, they are a completely new company.

yeah, check shrinking expenses vs brand new (and rapidly expanding) revenue sources.

Just closed my Scottrade account, getting a 25k check, putting half in a 401k and half in shitcoins.

Been grinding the market for three fucking years and managed to double my money. Put a couple hundred in shitcoins last week and triples. I haven't even looked at my stocks this week and check my blockfolio every ten minutes. Just sick of it.

People have been saying buy and hold since it was $1 back in November. This is a pump and dump, tons of longs that took this idiotic advice are now waiting for a $3 stock to hit $15. What's more, it's lost value since those days.

If this train wreck couldn't avoid tanking 20% regularly while it still had a fighting chance, what makes you think it's going to sore 500% (for those bag holders) or even 50%?

To be fair they sound shady as hell. There isn't even a decent platform to trade on or any definitive platform, wallet. It's like a dotcom bubble. Not saying it will crash, just saying it's 50/50 pure gambling at this point. Lots of guys got lambos, lots picked the wrong shitcoin and went broke. Can't have high reward without high risk. You have hundreds of shitcoins invented, new ones every week, new exchanges every week. It will be a bloodbath until just a handful emerge victorious.

Accounting. Not 90, but 50k at least. The jobs want 5 years experience for a 14/hour piece of shit gig. 9/10 don't even have benefits. 1/2 the jobs are contract gigs. The requirements for experience are just fucking ridiculous. I applied for hundreds of positions, got a few interviews only to be told not enough experience.

i also have an accounting degree. i live in New Orleans, and it's extremely difficult to get an accounting job here. best thing i found was $12 bookkeeping/administrative assistance trash for some sketchy Arabic real estate guys. i could literally make that delivering pizza. it's crushing. i didn't go to college for $12 an hour, you know?
>>
>>2312119

Pretty much. Been working highschool tier jobs, got fired from one yesterday but nbd, I can get another within a week. Got enough money to put a few thousand into stocks, made a few hundred, but man. Even 100% on 2k is still just 2k.

I wish /biz/ still had business threads. I really hate to personal blog here, but it's a consulting business I want to start. I have a shoestring marketing plan mapped out, startup costs are $100, I can charge $50/hr. I'm working out copywriting now and got to get the website up and some cards printed. Tired of working for other people. But this is the kind of shit no one ever teaches you. I'll be fine if I can get a few clients but I don't know anyone personally. Just got to roll out and cold-call and shake hands I guess.
>>
>>2312276
+1 for business threads

I'd like to have personal finance/business/economics threads without all the comments being
>plz go grandpa
>>
>>2312273

Thank fucking god it's not just me. It galls me, it really does. Every statistic, every fact I read, said 50k starting right out of the gate on graduation was the typical salary. I'm finding shit for 14 an hour that wants 5 years experience. I'm 50k in debt from college and this is the shit I get.

So I've been searching for profitable side hustles and pirate-level personal finance tricks. It's just fucking fucked. All of the jobs are contract work, gigs, horribly low pay, or literal McJobs. And they still have the audacity to be picky to unreasonable levels. Like a 5/10 fatass single mom demanding 10/10 men. I just fucking give up.

The average cost that slave-owners paid for the upkeep of their slaves, inflation-adjusted, was 40k a year. If you make less than 40k, you're worse off than a fucking slave.

So I might not get great returns on the stock market, but even 30% a year, that's still free money that I can scale up, and I don't need anyone's permission to work it.
>>
>>2312325
there's no way around it. accounting just wasn't a good choice. i didn't realize it when i was 18. i grew up relatively poor and no one in my family has gone to college so everyone thought i was making a very good decision and shit. here i am, 24, with virtually nothing and still $13/20k of my debt left.

my friend also has an accounting degree and he's in the same boat. we both went into it because it's like, oh guaranteed $40-50k! he wen to a recruiter and they told him best case scenario is $30k. 30 isn't horrible, but again, we didn't go to college to make service industry wages. we didn't go into DEBT for service industry wages.

that's how i feel too though. i feel like i've already wasted a lot of my potential by believing the fucking wagecucks that convinced me of pursuing job security and longevity. i've sacrificed a lot of personal happiness for what i thought was a responsible path and at this point i don't give a fuck because i'm broke anyway.
>>
>>2312325
also, about the experience, it's exactly the same here. it's like $30k if you have 2+ years of experience. like, what the fuck? why would i waste my time? i'm supposed to live on pizza boy wages until you upgrade me to 30k? that's insane, you know?

but even my friend with a CS degree works for IBM. 2 years in and he still only makes like $43k. sometimes i wish i did CS, but i feel pathetic that $40k was my desired minimum and now i can't even get that as my maximum. it is seriously completely fucked and i think the system is collapsing.
>>
>>2312354
>i grew up relatively poor and no one in my family has gone to college so everyone thought i was making a very good decision and shit.

Same. I'm the first in my immediate family to get a degree, and here I am, fucked balls-deep in the ass. I don't know anyone who is actually earning a decent wage, I mean anyone out of college. Even oldfags are all getting downsized or subsisting on shit like 40k a year. That's piss.

The employment numbers are all lies. The jobs that are available are all shit, all of them. But I thought I'd get a good, respoooonsible degree like accounting. Boy damn I got fucked. Thanks to /biz/ I'm not starving, but shit. You need money to invest in the first place. Like, say I want to buy the dip on buttcoin. Where am I gonna get 2k from now? Just buy a couple sats and take poverty gains? Or say I want to buy dips on RH, where do I get the initial money? It's fucked.

Like, give me a refund and you can take the degree back. Wasted years of my life and blood, sweat, and tears on that, and I got debt and no job.

Faggy Tripfriend has 130k portfolio, I guess he's rich or something, but maybe he's sweating a little now. Man, I was so hopeful in college. "I'm gonna make 50k when I graduate! And then it goes up from there! I can make 6 figs in a few years!" All a fucking lie.

I come to /biz/ because I don't want to depend on a job. You need some asshole's permission to be given a job. I need to find something else. Maybe my business works, maybe NAK takes me to lamboland, but it's gotta be something.

It isn't just accounting. I know fucking engineers that are out of work. There are just no jobs at all. Even if you get a job, they pay you 30k and work you 80 hours a week. Fuck it.
>>
>>2312554
yep. my Chemical Engineering friend works at a hotel for $13 lol.

i agree with you though. i don't see a reality where i can be somebody's bitch for the next 40-50 years. i'll fucking kill myself dog.
>>
>>2312325
>this

I'm working as a lab tech for 12.97 an hour and I have a B.S in Biology. Don't get me wrong, I love my job and I'm making way more money than Mickey D's (like I was 6 months after graduation) but like I'm not making enough to be able to save a sizeable amount or put a worthy amount into the market. I get that having a B.S in a field like biology is practically nothing in the research world but not fucking 12.97 an hour nothing. I have like 200 in RH rn, but I'm thinking of saving like 2 grand this year and putting it into a CD. Or maybe I'll just up and move to Texas and work at buccees as an assistant manager and make 17/hr.
>>
>>2312607
>17/hr.

Please shoot me in the fucking head.

Is there anywhere that people who graduated go to post what jobs they actually got? Any sort of community or resource? I feel like most people are in this spot.

It wouldn't be that bad, but holy fuck you cannot have a situation where wages decrease every year, jobs become more and more scarce, AND the costs all increase. Every single year.

I want a false advertising lawsuit against every university. They fucked us, lied to us, got us in deep debt, and left us for dead. They all but promised us 50k+ jobs upon graduation, and where are they? But the kikes will never allow it. And holy fuck dealing with the loan collectors is bullshit. Not a single human to speak to. They want 600 a month from me and all my applications for an income based repayment were denied. I entertain thoughts of tracking down the kike owners at Navient and shooting them. And we had no choice, because every job wants a degree now. Need a degree to make 12/hour. Holy fuck what a world.

Trying not to be bitter. I just want to start my business and make money for myself, no kike overlords involved.

i know people from a big network of pharmaceuticals and biotechs and also places like amazon/microsoft. they all hire engineers right out of school even if they completely suck in every aspect. ive seen people with basic biology degrees get hired on for 50k starting to just sit around on their phones and sometimes watch how other people work so that maybe they'll learn something. i hear far worse stories about programmers.

i mean a lot of these people might get fired after a few years without progress, but the point is that big companies especially are fucking desperate for science and engineering majors. they used to hire only people with masters degrees for a lot of these types of spots, but with automation and everything they'll take pretty much anyone.

i've never heard of someone going through an actual engineering program and not making good money right out of school. not once. not even the kinds of people who were just there for the memes and didn't do the work. you get your certifications and talk to your mentors/advisors and you are interviewing the next week. a lot of people just go temp to hire too. engineers are stupid rare because each program only takes like 50-100 kids every year. maybe you guys are talking about some technical school or community college where there is no difference between an english degree or a chem E degree.

What are the chances that Robinhood executives are taking user data (gains, losses) and making bank off of it or selling it to other firms? It could be as simple as selling their own shares to users at a higher rate or looking for patterns and betting against them

I swear to god Robinhood is giving me major asspain.
I put in an order for 1300 shares of OHGI earlier today and 938 of them filled as the stock repeatedly got halted.

Despite all the unhalts the order was never completely filled until 10 minutes AFTER I cancelled the remaining order and sold the 938 shares. I don't understand how they can get away with this kind of fuckery.

How can the market be effectively regulated? It's decentralized and the buyers are anonymous. I imagine the next big innovation will be to create some kind of decentralized no fee exchange. When, not if, that happens, how will the system be regulated then? I think this volatility is going to be the standard for crypto until they they're completely mined out unless governments start cracking down on ownership. I don't think the regulations are going to come the way you think they are.

"Looks good" hasn't worked for all the shills on biz lol. I play with options and have made some good gains in past two weeks but that was on companies. I am thinking of getting into etf options but those are fuckton risky as the volatility is crazy high. I am trying to figure out how the technical analysis works on ETFs like night, jnug, dust, etc.

Looks like war is gonna kick off between the Saudis and Qatar. Might be a good time to buy into gopro. Soldiers all want footage of themselves fighting so they can show their kids and grandkids how badass they were during the war. And god knows they have the fucking money to blow on these things.
