>BTC - solid gains but smaller than many altcoins due to massive market cap
>Buy alt coins with high growth potential to get ahead of BTC gains
>sell some of the latter to buy more BTC
>miss out on some potential mooning but that's risk management for ya
Missing out on moon missions has driven me mad with FOMO and I just lost a large fraction of my portfolio trying to chase them

Taking a much more high risk approach, but similar in nature.
Goes like this:
>Spread small portion of portfolio over higher risk, shorter term gains (1-2weeks)
>Take out gains, leaving some in deepending on potential of a coin.
>put gains into ETH for holding, or into another coin if one presents itself
>Keep holdings to about 7 coins total at any one time so that I can keep tabs on them w/ blockfolio easily
So far so good

I rebalance weekly.
Riskmanagement is the only way to actually win and keep winning in this game.
