You can block the ad's actually. There's 3 default values for it. 'Regular Ad's', 'Brave Sponsored Ad's', and 'Adblock'. Honestly the internet takes money and even sites that we like to use. I'd rather have the 'Brave Sponsored Ad's' and help pay the sites that I actually care about, than have to deal with obtrusive ad's that destroy user experience. I'm strictly speaking from my Web Development experience, and I'm a professional in my field.
