This!
Bitcoin is beginning to show its age and its many many flaws.
Most people dont actually use bitcoin for anything but as a hedge or to purchase altcoins with.
Barely anyone actually uses it for actual money transfers person to person, there's plenty of altcoins that does it much much much faster, much cheaper.
No one wants to have their coins stuck in a mempool for days.
Not to mention the constant fighting between the bitcoin community, miners vs developers, whales vs big players, should we fork? increase block size?
Bitcoin is the middleman of the cryptoworld, you need bitcoin to buy most altcoins, this is the sole reason of it still being relevant, and why it has increased so much in value.
If most major exchanges began to offer ethereum as the middle man instead of bitcoin, bitcoin would literally crash and burn overnight.
