I use to watch it. He only does non-technical businesses, but it's still an interesting show.
Interesting to learn some basics of business and how people fuck up the most simple shit as they build the business.
I used to years ago, and I watched all the episodes at the time. After waiting too long, I forgot about it over time until this thread.
It was interesting, which is something I can't say for almost all TV shows.

Yup, that's exactly how I remember I thought of it as. Refreshes my memory.
I like it, across the series you can see his master plan in action as he buys a tent manufacturer, then a BBQ manufacturer, then a camping store...
I get the impression he decides there is room in X industry then collects businesses that will help that end goal. Another example was the used car dealership, the metal recycler and the car restorer. He can get anything from trash to a classic and owns the businesses needed to maximize profit either way.
