How's cryptocurrency investing not gambling?

Actually it is.
Its called speculating. Otherwise known as betting. Or gambling.

Investing is gambling.
If you have a solid day trading strategy that returns roughly the same profits everyday then that's not really gambling.

what data can you use for crypto other than past price & news?
Crypto is kind of different from traditional investing, it will either be worthless or worth a lot in the future
I'm willing to take that risk
Investing in general is gambling

>research about tech and devs
>check the market
>check the community
>check upcoming events
>make judgement
>buy and hodl
Simple as that. Bought this way into ETH at $44, XRP at 8k sat, DGB at 100sat.

Thanks alot. Isn't anything numerical I can study? If I can confirm some value from working out some numbers I might join the ride. Have $1k ready. Will obviously invest this over a long period of time and willl try to diversify as much. I dont want lambos tomorrow.

I gave you a sort of long term investment strategy, if you know what crypto is and what innovations it offers. I'm not a pro trader, but I don't think it obeys TA that much. I've spotted so called 'meme triangle' and 'inverted hammer' to work often. After you see several graphs, pumps and dumps, you can fairly confident guess the start of a pnd from a graph, volume changes etc.
I guess there would be a way to make a nice algorithm for cryptos though. If you'd find a way to look through several pnd cases and those magic analysis markers/slope gradients automatically for each case, then extract the data, look through it and spot similarities, you'd probably come up with some useful data. You could do the same thing to take advantage of volatility I guess. The only problem is - algorithm can't take account for news as far as I know.
