I can't even protect my gains by turning them into Fiat because they have been so massive and Cuckbase has a $15,000 withdrawal limit :(.

Holding on an exchange isn't selling.

BTC is the gold standard for all other coin. If it crashes, so will everything else.

I can understand bailing BTC, but why is that fucking dinosaur dragging everything else down with it, it fucking pisses me off.
>>
>>2205561
Relax anon, everyone is turning their gains into rent money. Hodl until your hands can hodl no longer.
>>
>>2205561
please someone tell me there is at least one exchange that allows short selling
>>
>>2205600
Google up on Bitcoin ATMs, but pretty much unless you live in a huge city, you're going to have to wait, lad.
>>
>>2205600
Crypto is prone to huge crashes. Any business that offered that would be committing suicide.
>>
>>2205568
Sell it and hold it your USD wallet faggot. Then buy more at the dip.
>>
>>2205592
Everything is paired on BTC. People are dumping their alts back to BTC to cash out en masse
>>
>>2205582
If you cash out on cuckbase you don't get taxed?
>>
Ok this is getting past babbies first dip.
>>
hodlers who didn't watch it happen, wake up tomorrow and panic. It isn't over
>>
>>2205582
converting to fiat is "selling"

PAY ATTENTION NEETS
big boys want to run the ETF UP. because they will already HAVE SOME. you won't. look at this as the suckers who buy a public offering. example.. SNAP CHAT.

its a holiday weekend, most dudes are out. so they run shit the way they need it on zero volume. they do this shit with futures and commodities. i feel this move is mostly related to the bitcoin etf they want to establish.

markets take the elevator down, and the steps up. never invest more than your willing to lose.
>>
>>2205633
You can exchange BTC for USD but still keep the USD on an exchange.
At this point it's still an IOU for USD and not actual FIAT.

You only cash out when you wire it to yout bank account. Then you have to pay taxes.
>>
>>2205636
BTC -> $1700
ETH -> $110

You heard it here on /biz/ first
>>
>>2205648
He meant for "tax purposes" it isn't considered selling if you leave your fiat on an exchange.
>>
>>2205660
“My concern is that the launch of an ETF could lead to irrational exuberance if the price of bitcoin appreciates dramatically,” says Christopher Burniske, blockchain-products lead at money manager and research firm ARK Investment Management. ARK invests in Bitcoin Investment Trust , GBTC -15.09% an ETF-like fund that already trades over the counter but currently is only available to wealthy investors.

>tfw bought a bunch of eth last week for 150, but not scheduled to arrive on coinbase till today

So the reason BTC is going down is because the illuminati didnt predict that this would happen, yknow, 8 years ago?

And it isnt because the commodity jumped 300% in about a month, and liquidity ran out very fucking fast when people who were invested realized that its getting very fucking hard to pay face value for a coin?
>>
>>2205677
Agree about BTC. Thats where the price was at before this frenzy.
>>
>>2205676
>>2205678

Thanks for the info, what got another question but its pretty clear to me now after knowing this.

Is each trade like on poloniex or shapeshift taxable?
>>
>>2205697
It's ambiguous as to whether it's like-kind and exempt. The assumed answer is "yes" until the IRS says otherwise
>>
>>2205710
"yes, it's taxable" I mean. Not "yes, it's like-kind and exempt"
>>
>>2205653
Oh god I wish.
>>
Been trying to buy into this dip

Fucking Coinbase ... approves the instant transaction but then nothing happens... how am I supposed to get rich off you weak handed bitches if I can't hit the dip
>>
>>2205722

So each exchange is taxable like 40% why even trade? Should i just hit the buy or sell button on cuckbase and forget about poloniex? I'm new to this.
>>
>>2205729
Its going to go way lower. I would wait.
>>
>>2205743
How much lower do you figure it will go? It's at $146.50
>>
>>2205739
Basically. Moving any crypto around is a taxable event according to current IRS statements.

Not a lot of Americans seem to know that, and anybody with yuge gains is going to have an audit with an agent up their ass inspecting what they ate for breakfast. Capital gains tax is a bitch and isn't being factored into margins or movements.

deribit for futures and options and bitmex for futures only.
>>
Now that it's down, should I buy?
>>
>>2205776
yes, sell it in a week if it goes above 220$
>>
>>2205784
i would think that if it could manage to go all the way to $220 after this shitshow, then it would be worth holding onto
>>
>>2205788
It'll go back down
>>
>>2205689
Same here
Didn't plan on selling for awhile, but it's still disheartening

How can I get my canadian money onto my coinbase account?
>>

Don't
>>

Why not? Any alternatives?
>>
>>2205904
