It's actually really competitive these days. I make almost nothing, half of the pay is just knowing that someone gets off to my garbage.

Also used computer parts via no-warranty craigslist postings @ 60% retail. Only overhead there is gas, but I like to drive, so it's more of a hobby than a hustle.

I put $2 into startup altcoins a few years ago, sitting at about 200k currently. Would have been 500 if i was paying attention earlier in the week

Mostly electronic items . I recently found one of the girl talk im-me toys that Samy Kamkar used to make that OpenSesame thing ( same fcc id and everything) . Bought it for $2.99 and will probably sell for near $100 to some 1337 haxor .

I do this on the side to pay for my other hobbies such as radio scanning , photography , biking .

Really you can start with just your knowledge of random stuff and then expand as you find interesting things while you source .
