I'm in the same boat as you. I took out like 30% of my bitcoin stash and I'm now on ETH. I should've got in earlier, but the gravy train hasn't left yet. ETH has the potential to be Bitcoin 2.0, seriously, read about it. A lot of analysts see this overthroning bitcoin in a few months. It's market cap is currently at 44% of bitcoin's. It's 24h trade volume is just about the same.
>>

only 18 y/o so I'm doing pretty well
Plan to bring my total hodlings up to 100 ETH through ICO investments and staking.

Remember when someone on reddit wanted to buy 1 mil. ETH 3 years ago?

Yeah, that was me. After investing back and forth (my portfolio includes XBT, DASH, ZEC, XRP), I have around 600.000 ETH today.

Needless to say, I don't work 9-5 anymore.

Shapeshift launches PRISM based on Ethereum Smart Contracts:
http://www.coindesk.com/shapeshift-breaks-new-ground-prism-digital-asset-portfolio-product/

"In short, Prism, [...] enables users to create custom "prisms" by putting ether into a smart contract on the ethereum blockchain that is designed to mimic the price fluctuations of any of the hundreds of available cryptographic assets traded on exchanges."

"Instead of buying a cryptocurrency and keeping those funds on an exchange (or holding the keys in an offline wallet), users put a dollar amount, invest it in "bitcoin", "ether" and "monero" and select the exposure they would like the "portfolio" to have relative to the price fluctuations of each asset."

When I put $2,000 via Coinbase into ETH at $85 (feels good, man), last week, they simply called me, asked me some verfiication questions, and that was it.

Again, though, you probably have a daily withdrawl limit. On my acct, it is $3,500. I know this from calling them and asking, when I lost my debit card awhile ago. You can raise it on request, though.

Be aware it will take 3-5 days for the coin to actually go into your acct. I don't see ETH going anywhere but up or staying in the coming future, though, so shouldn't be a problem.

True that. Also, guys, I'm going to give you a fact that's going to blow you away.

On the 1st of January, 2017, so not even half a year ago, Bitcoin had 91% of the Total Market Capitalization.

Today, on the 22nd of Mary, 2017, it only has 46.4%

It's about half. Bitcoin went from the undisputed king to not owning even HALF of the market. Think about that for a sec.

(I advise you to take a look at the chart: https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#dominance-percentage)
>>
how do you sell ETH?
>>
One question:
When you set up a coinbase account, can you instantly buy and sell bitcoin/ETH or will you have to wait a few days until verification is done?
>>
>>2149035
I honestly believe the only reason BTC is priced as it is because it is the only real gateway currency into most of the alt coins. As soon as there are more ways to funnel money directly into alt coins, BTCs value will begin to drop.

It depends. So, I think Bitcoin tanking hard would generally damage the trust of all Crypto coins and lead to quite some panic sells all over the place.

However, in the event of BTC tanking because a successor coin has appeared that people acknowledge as being the "new" BTC and its just a matter of BTC being replaced, then ETH would probably be safe.

I've been watching BTC and ETH since the early days since BTC was something I thought would be cool to mine, TAILS was a new thing, Anonymous was a legion, etc.. Though I never mined, I thought the dark markets and a currecy you could generate with a GPU was neat. Later, I started lurking /biz/.

I only just now, at $85 ETH, decided to no longer be cucked and threw in for crypto. Here's how I see it:

Crypto is in an obvious bubble. Even though the main player is BTC, the crypto market has blown up enough for banks, brokers, and corporations to realize how much is to be made in a large, early adoption, easy mode money launder underground trading market.

The market is thus widdening greatly and shooting up. It is quickly diversifying away from the central BTC. ETH has had long held confidence in the community, despite people calling it a meme coin. It also has become the corporate family friendly coin with the EEA.

This coin will obviously be the big competitor to BTC. People have realized and a lot of money will go into it. Hold this coin. Buy in the dips, like now, and have a strong hand.

>pull out some ETH to throw into RDD for kicks this morning
>ETH dips 10% since then
>RDD grows 10% since then
>sell the RDD and put back into ETH during the dip that just happened
>has already gone up 3% in the last 5 minutes
nice

Also what's bump limit on /biz/, 310?

Sell idiots. You can buy it back cheaper later. See week chart to see where this steaming pile is headed
>>
There's a difference between dip and crash

This is the 2017 cryptocurrency crash. It'll be in history books and you morons are holding through it

the only crashing thats going to happen is your car directly into a wall as you regret being a filthy nocoiner

Hit my bankt buy limit at $2,000 at Coinbase earlier this week. Wish I hadn't been so lazy and had gone out and got some localbitcoins today to swap for more ETH when it was at $140.
