Recently found a supply of about 40 computers, iMacs and laptops. All are broken and were dumped in a shipping container. But could I take advantage of this, scraping for gold, parts or other precious metals?

This, Apple anything has HUEG resale value for no fucking reason, go on Youtube and look for videos on how to disassemble the things, try to assemble a working one out of the shit you have and test parts with it
Otherwise you could find someone to do it for you, or just filp em' on Ebay as-is, if you provide good photos and descriptions they will sell
