I'm doing a phone interview with them tomorrow for a software developer consultant position. I've heard mixed things about them, does anyone here have knowledge or experience with them?
They are a literal sweatshop for people with degrees. Basically you surrender yourself to them for minimum wage for two years. Then they finally give you a normal wage after two years is up.
Fucking nasty. They think it's worth it because they give training and experience.
Oh and if you sign you get fucked if you leave early.

Are there any better alternatives out there?

So how many hours do people end up working at FDM, while they're under that 2 year contract?
Is the quality of their training actually good or do we teach ourselves everything?

Yea, you learn your shit and apply elsewhere. I had to make an app before I was hired. It took a while but it's better than being locked down for 2 years.
FDM hunts for new grads to fuck in the ass.

Basically what happens is you work for FDM, but are contracted out to their clients. Their clients are usually banks. But the point is, they take your wage in exchange for training and experience.
I don't know if it's worth it. To me it isn't. Any place that makes you sign a contract that results in a fee if you leave early can suck it.

After working in the industry everything is a clusterfuck. I'm sure the training is better than university, but it's nothing you can't learn solo.
