starting salary varies alot, for example working in utilities like water is about ~60k, whereas oil and gas is approx 100k and beyond (this is in AUD btw)
starting salaries used to be alot more during the mining boom, like it was pretty standard for someone to get 120k as a graduate if you worked in the mines. now the field is saturated as fuck
