how do I into crypto currency? is there a comprehensive guide or something somewhere? I don't see any resources in the sticky or in the /crypto/ general.
I have literally no idea what I'm doing

Here's what I did: set up coinbase with bank account, buy BTC or ETH straight from there, sign up on poloniex exchange, transfer coinbase funds to exchage so can buy all the meme coins
Pretty easy actually but takes about two weeks to fully get in motion

Right now I'm holding ETH and LTC and made about 10% unrealized profit in the past 2 days
Soon I'm just gonna invest equally in like 6-7 of the most popular coins. Seems like you literally can't fail doing this

There isn't really a good guide for it. It's a wild west. I'll try to make it easy for you though.
1. Make Kraken/Coinbase or Gemini account
2. Transfer FIAT (your money in $ or EURO)
3. Buy ETH
4. Hold it
5. Study coinmarketcap.com and look for interesting coins
6. Research these coins, check if they are worthy of your money
7. If you want to buy some altcoin; trade your ETH for BTC
8. Make Bittrex account and send your BTC there
9. Buy altcoins when they are in "red" low price
10. Sell when they are in "green" high price or hold, if you think they are going to rise higher
11. Don't fall for meme coins, if you fall sell them after some small gains and then buy the dip
12. Research stuff at bitcointalk.org it's the birthplace for many succesful coins.
I might make a guide in the future, if I get filthy rich. Good luck.
