So, I'm about to start learning to trade, I think. Algo trading in particular looks cool to me. But I'm having a look at this guy's blog:
http://qoppac.blogspot.ca/2017/04/investment-and-trading-performance-year.html
A "good year" for him was doubling his money. This past year he didn't do very well at all it looks like. Is that only because he presumably has a lot of capital?
I cannot spend a year doubling my capital in a good year and get anywhere. I can save maybe $400 a month (and I'm in Canada...) lol. What do?
Buy index and hold.
Don't be a daytrader wannabe faggot you'll lose all your money.

ETFs/Indicies are objectively the most secure long-term way of not being a poorfag.
Put it into something else, you won't get what you're looking for with 4 grand a year

Dunno how this is going to affect me desu. I live in Edmonton. Should I be scared? A big part of the reason I'm doing this btw is to escape this shithole. I'm on NEETbux and can't leave atm.
Also I have access to learning resources on a private tracker. Just not sure what to study. The stuff there is all trading stuff.

Nice, I have family there in Edmonton.
Why are you not in japser or Banff right now.
Bong here

I can't afford it. I get cheap rent in a nice part of the city because my mums has a house here. But I'm not worried about that shit atm. I need cash so I can travel to Tokyo or somewhere, na'mean? Sounds kinda petty but whatever. If I fail maybe I'll try to move to Banff or something.

If I had enough money, id go to japser and drive up and down that main road going towards Banff, maybe down to canmore and back.
That place is too comfy. I'd just drive and stop of in campsites as it's cheap. Nationals parks like them are too comfy in the summer.
