Somebody redpill me on import tariffs. They're to protect domestic producers, right? But what if there is not a domestic producer for what I am importing. Why am I still being taxed?

I suppose in theory the tax could be used to help domestic ventures.

Redpill me on what grinning jews have to do with this.

Jews love money. You give them money they are happy. More money. More happiness

In theory the tax dollars from a situation like this would go towards providing subsidies for domestic firms in order to trim importing.

Forcing you to
1. Utilize a domestic alternative
2. Not to consume an outside product which would result in immediate monetary loss for the country
The worst part is if a domestic producers is importing cheap raw materials and manufacturing a more valuable item for consumption or export. Eg. One can import 1 million dollars worth of steel, use 2 million dollars of other item and build a 10 million dollar building. This is a negative trade balance that works.
The reality for the US is mostly purchasing consumption goods for cheap and then consuming them. Yes some people arbitrate the cost difference and theoretically there is now money for other goods, however; for the US, trade doesn't really improve productivity. That's why it's mostly US retailers (i.e. middlemen for junk that Americans rack up credit card debt for) and net exporters bitching about free trade going away.
