Question about options, haven't done any trading with them, but I'm just trying to figure out if I'm understanding this right.
I'm using AMD as the example, If i buy a put at 0.82, It's strike price is 13.50, so the the stock would have to drop below $12.68 for me to break even since id be buying at $1268 + $82 = $1350 which is the price I could sell at, none of this is counting commissions which would mean id lose money overall.

What I don't understand is I'm looking at this option that expires in 4 days and to my understanding the premium cost is meant to reflect the probability of the option being executed, so I'm a bit confused why the premium seems so high to me since it would require the stock drop roughly 5% in 4 days, is this because the earnings report is tomorrow so there's volatility factored into it possibly doing a large spike down?

$500 USD is far too small an amount to actually get anywhere, with shares but now should be about learning. Read through the portfolios of companies that operate in your interest regions.

Right, but there's little activity right now because investors just see "owes half a billion this year" and they get the fuck out.

They refinanced and paid a lot off in Q1 though, so things should look better. At the same time, they've spent the beginning of Q2 buying a fuckload more ships.
Actually, the more I think about it, the less apprehensive I am about earnings. Their regular earnings will be a little lower because they sold their best earner, but the one-time income and subsequent debt reduction from that sale should get people's attention.
