Hi guys, just wanted to know whether investing in Gold/bullion is a good idea? Heard it was a pretty secure and safe investment. What are your thoughts?

Investing in gold? Opinions vary. I always keep some gold and silver bars/coins stashed away. Shit's gonna get weird when the chinese nuke our IT infrastructure.

mmmmm, I'm thinking of reading up on it, and building a portfolio of gold/silver.
Screw gold, buy silver. You can buy 72 ounces of silver compared to 1 ounce of gold. 72:1
So even if we go back to the historical ratio of a 10:1 between silver and gold you'll have multiplied your wealth by 7 times.
silver is much more rare than gold, so realistically you be increasing your wealth 35 times when silver to gold goes to something like 2:1

The gold silver ratio is probably going to get a lot worse imo (for silver). It reached over 80 just last year, probably about to do the same soon.

I watched an interview involving Mike Maloney this morning
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht2wLNi1N2Q
and he believes it could even reach up to 100. it will then start to reevaluate which a lag behind gold.
silver is still going down. 40 cents since i put in my order Tuesday @17.70
I don't even think it's reached its lowest price yet.

As an investment there are plenty of things that will make more than gold or silver.
Unfortunately trying to figure out what those things are is the tricky part.
As far as secure, yes it will hold value and gain aggressively if some financial shitstorm happens.
