Hi guys, I'm currently a uni student in Australia and living off welfare. Problem is my welfare only gives me an extra $20 per week after rent so I only have $20 per week for food and not enough for emergencies. I live quite far from the city and I've been rejected by the McDonald's here 3x despite having worked at McDonald's for years before moving for college and becoming a crew trainer. There just isn't many jobs here and the jobs that are available require a degree.

I've played with investopedia's stock simulator and it was something that was easy for me to get into, but I currently don't have the budget to start playing with stocks and I've had trouble trying to understand forex.

I currently have a budget of $100 and quickly running out of spending money. Is it a good idea to get into forex with only that much, or should I just save it and use it for an emergency? Any other tips?

Also, could someone link me to youtube channels or somewhere I could learn forex easily.

which state are you in? try looking for general hospitality jobs. Bars and shitty cafe's are a good start. you should be able to get in based on your experience at McDonalds. you can get weekend work easily and if you're lucky you might even find a cash job, which means your centrelink payments won't go down.

Victoria. I've tried dropping my resumes off and bars and cafes and so far I haven't gotten a reply yet. I've seen some stores place an ad, but they're only looking for full-time workers which doesn't work with my uni schedule. Hopefully I do get an offer soon, but I'm looking to get into trading either way.

I'm on neetbux in the U.S and started trading forex myself about 2 months ago. Even if you say 'learn forex easily' from all the material I've read there's no faster way to blow an account then thinking this will be easy.
With 100 dollars and 50:1 leverage on a decent trade based on forex factory news and reading their EURUSD thread you'll make like ten bucks if the market heads in the direction you pick.
I lost 42 dollars overall from my principal with 270 at my highest and 203 for my lowest. This was with going 50:1 and full account into one trade each time.
Read babypips, read forex factory and keep an eye on their calendar. I suggest staying away from youtube, most of those people are either brokers trying to make it look easy or people selling you a technical analysis viewpoint that you can't afford to trade.
Read the book Naked Forex, you can get it on libgen.

assuming Melbourne? I'm based there too and got through uni on shitty cafe jobs. coffejobs.com has worked well for me in the past. if you can find a cash job you'll be making a fuck load with your payments as well - I made a lot of money through uni but spent it all on partying.

as for forex I don't know much - but you can take out an advance loan on your centrelink payments if you need extra cash to get started. good luck anon.

I'm in Warrnambool. Used to live in NSW and it was really easy to get a job back then during my gap year. Got work at Roy Morgan quite easily.

I don't think advance payments would help since I would need to pay off my rent either way.

Considering your in a small town and not melbourne, it's all about connections in these towns and you'll have a hard time cause you're not a local. Try to talk to people you know well, see if there's any work going around.

babypips.com is a great site to learn forex. You can start off with that. But firstoff, were you every excellent at doing something? I mean being that good that you are among the best. It could be anything, even an online game. If you weren't then chances are you won't succeed in forex or stock market trading. It's all about being consistently profitable and beating computer alhorithms which play around with most of the money. 90% of the human traders are doomed to fail. Face this facts and think about if it's worth investing the time to learn and the potential stress.

As someone that was where you were 3 years ago.

Probably not worth it. I made and lost a fortune.

Why trade forex? It seems like a high risk low reward market.

You have to risk a shitload of capital to make any significant money.

Trade a smaller market with bigger swings in price and you can risk less capital for bigger rewards.

It's not a get-rich-quick-scheme. You won't make it with your last $100 and some grit, it takes a lot of time to get into it. babypips.com/school is a good start for concepts (read through the "school"), then forex4noobs.com/free-course/what-is-the-free-course/ to get a better idea of price action (he explains it pretty well, if a bit unscientifically). Don't buy any courses. After those, you could look at other concepts but really you'll probably learn more from practice.

My personal advice would be:
>PRICE ACTION FIRST, INDICATORS ONLY TO VERIFY
>MONEY MANAGEMENT (Position sizing)
>DON'T TRADE TO TRADE - STICK TO YOUR RULES

Find a good broker that you like, preferrably with an interface that calculates position sizing for you to simplify that part, and start training with fake money. You don't need to, and shouldn't, risk any real money until you're good at trading fake money.

Oh, learn from your mistakes, and don't give up. Good luck.

Yeah, why would anyone trade the most liquid technically predictable market with a cap that dwarfs the rest when you could tie it down with individual companies and suits making decisions behind closed doors?

inb4 crypto. If you missed Bitcoin you're more or less fucked. Those whales own every crypto coin market now, and unlike regular currencies the market caps are so small that even individuals can manipulate them.

High risk, high reward.

>You have to risk a shitload of capital to make any significant money.
>Trade a smaller market with bigger swings in price and you can risk less capital for bigger rewards.
What? You know that there are different pairs with varying volatility, and that you trade using a margin account, right?

Only trade a smaller market if you have some kind of insider knowledge. As a small trader you want liquidity above all, and second resonable volatility. What you really don't want is to be stuck in a bad position with no way out.
