Is Global Government a bad thing? Why?
No
Big government leads to stifling of innovation
Yes.
Surely as a /biz/fag you would understand that competition is best. Therefore competing numerous nation states is the best situation

Let's put aside the questionof wether it could be good or bad.
What would. be the benefitis of a worldwide government?
The only ones I can think of:
- Reduced disparity of wealth between regions.
- We might be able to actually go to space faster.
- Reduced number of conflicts for land
Cons
- Too big to manage, you would need regional governments anyway making the global policies more of a recommendation than law
- Some countries would flat out refuse it and they would be sanctioned and separated from the rest.
- How do you even agree on elections and policy at that scale?
Seems too impractical. Maybe when AIs take control and there are multiple human colonies in other planets we will need some form of unified government for Earth.
