Have luxury cars stopped being a status symbol? Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, etc.

Where I live only see Asians, Blacks and spoiled white girls driving them. The successful people I know drive pretty modest cars.

What's the new status symbol? I'd say having free time not slaving away at work.

I should say mostly Asian immigrants.
>>
Lmfao, op is retarded confirmed

I'll spread my butt cheeks so you can eat shit

Where I live, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Tesla, Cadillac, Porsche and massive SUV's rule the road.
Ford, Hyundai, Mazda etc. come in 2nd

I see more Bentley's than Subaru's.

I see more Ferrari's than Lincolns.

I see a Rolls Royce at least once a week, yet I've never seen a new Chevy Malibu in the flesh.

I think you just live in a shitty part of town.

California?

You're more likely to see the behavior you describe (successful people driving modest cars) in areas like the Midwest, the far Northeast, and parts of the South.

It's not so much true in places like most of California, the Mass-to-DC urban areas, and south Florida, where they like to show off more.

It's more of a cultural difference.

The new status symbols are premium Staceys.
>>

>Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, etc.

Those are pleb their wealth brands. You can lease a Caldilac, or entry level Mercedes/BMW for 3-400 a month.

The high networth(10M+ assets) are likely to have RR, Aston Martin, Koenigseggs and other super car level brands and use a 7 series or S class as a DD

The opposite. Being busy is a status symbol.
People bragging about working 100 hours a week.

The median price paid by millionaires for their most recent [car] acquisition was only $31,367. The typical price paid by decamillionaires was $41,997. . . . many millionaires drive so-called common, nonprestige makes of cars; . . . .

If I had 10 million, I certainly wouldn't buy a car over $50000.

Agreed.

Although I might be tempted by a '69 GTO in perfect shape.

Or a 1957 Testa Rossa.

Or..

Oh, stop it.
>>
>>1972808
That's the old status symbol. No one I know brags about working long hours.

Warren Buffett drove a 8-year-old Caddy the last time I checked.
>>

I know a family worth ~70M. Husband drives a 2 year old S-class. Wife drives a 09 Jaguar XJ. They also have an old Escalade, for driving their dog around.
>>
I make enough cash to buy a new vehicle (cash paid no payments) every month. I drive a 2009 Single cab chevy silverado (basic model)

the person making the most $ is the one making the least noise.

I have a bunch of friends who are deeply in debt, and never have any free time because they have to be at work.
>>
>>1972890
may I add, they drive brand new vehicles way out of their income level without buying on credit
