All you would need to do is write a program to read crypto charts and then make trades accordingly.

Poker bots work the same way, They make plays based on past hands and calculate percentages.Hell i wouldn't be suprised if most people trading on poloniex aren't actually just bots running in a lab at MIT.

worked at an algo trading portfolio management firm. they did technical analysis only
they were... technically successful, i guess? super shitty alpha tho imo

have a full-time return offer, but i don't want to go back. i want to publish my own indicators on my website for people like them to use tho. i'm good at modeling fundamental and technical information

nah i'm too smalltime to capitalize on that. there are certainly computers that can (or try to) capitalize on the intraday or super short term random walk of price, but that isn't me.

i just model market forces the best i can. fundamental, sentiment, and technical. these inform my personal trades, but i haven't automated it all yet. probs won't for another year or so.
if it gives context, the mean duration of a position in my portfolio is around 5 months.

and the portfolio management firm only has like a quarter billion aum

Haven't tried but really interested in getting into it. :/ slowly working with various apis at the moment but haven't really started trading yet
