I'm 18, will getting and properly using a credit card improve my credit score? Is it worth the hassle? Also general credit card thread I guess
Yes to both. Just don't fuck up: always pay your balance in full.

Alright, thanks. Does it matter how much/little I spend on it? I don't earn much, but I don't spend too much either.

Less is better. You want a low credit utilization.

>will getting and properly using a credit card improve my credit score
... you need a credit score to get property and a credit card
... once you acquire those 2 things... why do you need to improve your score?

Thanks man

Credit history - age of credit is an important one.
Also Credit availability is important - someone with one credit card with a $500 limit looks like shit compared to someone with a $10,000 limit (granted that the person doesn't max those out).
Also number of accounts is big - one or two accounts, you look like shit. 20 (that are all paid up and not overdrawn/whatever) looks way better.
Credit score is only one factor. Credit history is a bigger factor. When I got married I had a credit score of about 750 but no history and couldn't get shit for loans. Now I have a score of about 600 but lots of history and I can get a credit card/mortgage pretty easy. If you can get a high score and a good history you'll be doing even better.

When you clicked 'Post' did you truly think you answered my question?
I can see you answered the brain-dead "derp what affects credit scores"
I'm also 18 but I am completely clueless as to which credit cards are the best to have.
Which one would you guys pick for average low income spending?

Theres really no reason, if you think youll never need to acquire a new mortgage again

You can get lower mortgage rates and credit card rates with a higher core. Also easier to get a business loan if you have good credit.
So if I buy almost everything on my credit card and just pay it off at the end of the billing cycle, my credit score will improve significantly? At most I spend maybe $250 a month and have plenty saved.
Why would anyone use a credit card instead of a normal card?
Is that a burger thing?

Better rewards, better consumer protection, slightly more profitable as your money continues to earn interest before paying.
There is literally no benefit to using a debit card over a credit card if you are responsible. Stop being poor Europe.
>>1933877
if you're good with your money management you literally get free, untaxed money through rewards
>>1933870
yes. make sure you use below 10% of your total credit .

Im 24
I still use moms credit card for online shopping. Pay it immediately when it gets here.

Retards basically subsidize some nice freebies for people who aren't AIDS with spending.
