Why does it seem that everyone is coming out with their coin? They cant all be valuable. What is going to be the last standing?

this isn't the first time it happened friend. this is the 2nd wave of altcoin-mainia. last round (2014-2015?) only a few alts are still standing, like LTC, XMR, maybe a few more.
this time around though, if bitcoin can't scale its network, there could be a catastrophic failure, and then all bets are off familam. I think ETH would take BTC's place at the top though.

also most of the coins are carbon copies, pre-mined then pumped and dumped. only the ones that add new features survive.

Everybody is betting on ethereum, I think many competitors are going to make it get down

Everyone is producing new coins to scam idiots out their money.
Very few will make money and most "investors" will lose money.

that's what you'd expect with normal economic market behavior I think, because you can just set up a company in china to do it, this is different I think. it takes years to build a proper competitor to BTC - which was ETH. it'd have to be something quite revolutionary with an amazing dev team.

Because they literally are. Download the open source code, change the name and a few numbers here and there and you've just created your own alt-coin. Literally anyone can do it.
Bitcoin Ethereum and Monero and eventually whatever improves on ETH will be the only ones left standing.
Everything else should be held short term and sold at profit to increase your stacks.
