Not sure if this is the right board, but how should I go about getting a backer to stake me to start my poker career? I have been playing low stakes 1/2-2/5 NLHE and 1/2 PLO and the occasional MTT for about 10 years. I want to take my game to the next level and turn pro, but this would be much easier if I knew someone who stakes

Not something I know about, but I would imagine that you would document your performance and then network with people at poker tournaments.

typical rule of thumb is 300 big bets relative to blinds in bankroll to turn pro. This equates to around 12k, but even half that would certainly get the ball rolling
