i have a friend in prison for life who says that health is the most important thing. i didnt think much of it until i experienced a few health issues that couldnt be easily addressed. now i know he was right, because when theres something wrong with your body, you cant enjoy the money no matter how much you have.

That's the basis of the working world: You pay them with your time, they pay you with their money. You are essentially spending time to buy money. That's why people stress the "importance" of a job you enjoy: When you like what you're doing (for non-monetary reasons) AND you are being paid money to do it, you are essentially spending most of your time to buy experiences you enjoy AND money. But likewise, a well-paying job can be even more important: Maybe you won't like how you have to spend your time, but if it buys you a significantly larger sum of money, then it's a better exchange rate, and, as they say, time well spent.

You can usually get more money, one way or another. You can even potentially get unlimited money if you're determined/lucky.
You can never get more time. You only have so much of it, and it gets spent on literally everything you do.

So yes, spend your time on making money. You literally need money for nearly everything in life, and it's a good time investment. But always remember to save some time, to spend on the experiences you enjoy - the things that you personally enjoy spending your time on, for entertainment or pleasure. Money can't buy us time, but it can buy us good opportunities to spend our time on the things we like.

So spend your time wisely.

I went through a year of my life wanting to become a millionaire fast. Wanted to be a millionaire before 24. There was not one single thing in my life I cared about except money.

Truth is, money is not the most important thing and I realize that now. Nobody needs that much to live the American dream. You can live a lifestyle very similar to Warren Buffett without working nearly as hard. You can have a nice house, a wife, ability to support children, go on vacation, go out and have fun with genuine friends, and you don't need to be an ultra millionaire to do it.
