im about to buy my first stock.
I was thinking 5-6 shares of Intel stock.

Different stocks are better or worse for different investors. What is your previous experience? What do you want to get out of your investment? How long do you want to hold?

The only market they have is the desktop market and people are buying less and less desktops every year. Invest your money into Qualcomm or Mediatek instead.

Seems like you have made your mind. So why even ask. Warnings been made some dont Be upset when you lose some money. Intel is loosing server side to AMD If napples are like they have said. I wouldnt bet to Intel now.
