I would advise you DON'T go half ass and get the shopify free version. Go balls to the wall and spend money on your project.

I bought a domain, shopify, a couple paid shopify apps, professional logo, and a fancy theme off of themeforest. At this point I'm of the mindset that no matter what happens I'll make it work. It's a good mindset but you need to have some skin in the game.

dropshipping meme is dead. especially now that china is getting smart and getting on amazon/ebay and selling it direct without a middle-man. not to mention alibaba is expanding into the US and expected to create 500k jobs. dropshipping is a meme. don't do it

It's not a meme at all, it's just dead for the US market. That marked had been saturated for so long anyway that it doesn't matter. But it's alive and well in Europe.
