Can I buy crypto with my AMEX? Or will this count as a (((money transfer))) and they try to charge me a fucking huge percentage on the purchase?

Use localbitcoins.
Coinbase it just shows up as a normal debit purchase, it's not money to the bank. They did however jew me with a foreign transaction fee of 3% as the payment processor is based out of London now (was San Francisco).
Most places have such low limits its pennies anyway. I just factor it into the price per coin.

Ah thanks
Is it still in London? I'm in the UK so that would be perfect for me
Basically I want to rack up my points using it to buy a bulk purchase of coins, but if they sting me on any kind of (((transaction fee))) it won't be worth it and I might as well just use a bank transfer

Are you going to hold the coins or sell them asap?

I just couldn't tell from your original post whether you were doing this just to rack up Amex points or because you were looking to buy BTC anyway (and the Amex points would just be a bonus).

Ah yeah, I'm trying to buy but I want the points too and if they go "ayy lmao (((charges)))" that'd be a real ballache and wouldn't be worth the benefit
