So the boss of the startup I work for is keen to have a go at crowdfunding. We've been working on the project for over a year and the money is almost gone. Personally I think a better idea would be to pursue investors, but he still owns 100% of the company and doesn't want to change that. So we are giving it a go.
I am very skeptical that we can get the 25k people to donate $10 for access to our platform. It's a fine deal and the product is ready, but in the saturated world of crowdfunding and the web in general I am not confident we can stand out.
But it's my job to try. Does anyone have experience getting funding for the business this way? The only things I can come up with are
