So I have absolutely no knowledge when it comes to stock, however several years ago when I had a bit of extra money to work with my cousin help me set up a bit of a portfolio which has been steadily growing. However without going into a whole TL;DR I need a bit of money and won't even start my new job until the 13th and my accounts are dry.
So I have some holdings on my computershare portfolio and even though I've never done it before it looks like a market order sale would be pretty straight forward and the fees would be negligible, but the problem is I had to update the address on my account which takes 2 business days then another 5 business days for the check to arrive in the mail.
My question is can I go to an investment firm and sell some of my stock in person to get a check(or cash) the same day? I tried calling an Edward Jones near me to figure it out but either I'm to /biz/lexic or the people on the phone were vague assholes. I'm not trying to sell all my stock, just trying to get $1200-1500 max so if something like that is possible what is a recommended investment firm and what kind of fees should I expect to see? The stocks I'm planning on selling are HSY.
tl;dr I don't have a stock certificate but have a computershare account set up, whats the fastest way to have cash in my hand from selling stock. Thanks
You'll have to get a payday loan if you need it sooner.

Didn't think I'd have any luck but thanks anyways. Oh well, I'll get by I suppose I'll just have to have people drive me around or borrow a car for a little while.
Like I said I don't even start my new job until next week so would I even be able to get a payday loan without a previous paystub? Just kinda curious as I don't plan on getting a payday loan anyways.
And since I'm showing my ignorance by asking a series of questions I should probably already know I'll ask one more. This is my first "professional" job I'm going to be starting so weather permitting how informal/unprofessional would it be to ride to work on a beat up motorcycle in my first days on the job (or any day after for that matter)?
