Im a princeton grad who is planning on going into healthcare but i was wondering how feasible it would be for me to make 100k working for a bank. I could easily make 70k a year + in a hospital. Is banking worth it?

Current investment banker here. Worked my way up here from teller in four years, I make about 150k base salary total about 300-350k with commissions. I would only recommend going into banking if you have excellent social skills. As with anything else, your upward potential has far more to do with your ability to make connections than it does anything else. 100k a year for a bank happens either at the bank manager level(where you can stagnate for years) or relationships officer/investment banking area, which both have more upward potential.

Got any info on the guys who write the software for financial analysis? is it glorified code monkey shit or more on the math side actually doing data science? Got interested in a position but unsure whether they want to sell the monkey job as the data scientist job.

none, I'm the retail side, meaning I'm the guy who explains everything we can do and makes a commissions based on what the clients invest. I have great social skills and sales ability, but I actually know little to nothing the the algorithms our company uses to do what they do.
