ITT: we post the traders who crashed and burned. All forms of fuckups are welcome, from shitty shorts, too much leverage to just buying/selling at the wrong time.
Screencaps/stories preferred, but anything is welcome.

Made low six figure amount from crypto trading.
>"Friend" writes me up on facebook about how he manages BTC from all his "friends" and is very successful.
>Claims how risk management is the most important thing for him.
>I don't have much time to manage my BTC. Also want a bit more leverage.
>Shows me some screenshot of recent trades
>Do look ok
>Send him 30 BTC.
>Leverages like crazy with future contracts on OKcoin.
>WTF dude!?
>He writes It's normal for him.
>Believe him
>Make like four times the original investment within a month.
>Suddenly demands 50% of all profit that he already made
>ok.jpg
>One week later: Kills the account shorting BTC.
>Send him 20 more BTC so he can trade back the original investment.
>9 days later: Account zero again.
>2 fuck ups within 1 month
>Risk management
If you invest with a friend do your due diligence twice as good and only give him money if you would have invested also if he weren't your friend.
The dude now wants to pay me back my 50 BTC over a few years but I highly doubt he will be able to deliver. Also he is a college student atm.
I lost a few thousand investing in an IPO (lending club) and some biotech startup. I was like hey, why not take a risk, live a little, stop playing it safe with index funds. Welp, lesson learned.
I try to consider all of my losses the price of tuition for financial education.
