So why has natural gas not gone up as much as other energies? I know it dropped a lot in 2016 but that is it.

Because fracking and unconventional drilling has created a ridiculous surplus.
Here in NE Ohio they are talking about shutting down a Nuke plant which is like 1/3 our power because natural gas is too cheap for it to compete.
