Congrats on the offer! A PE gig straight out of university is amazing. How'd you position yourself to get an offer? I'm about to enter my last year in undergrad, finance major in a strong Ivy target. I've got great internships under my belt (boutique M&A, VC and HF) but my GPA is shot to shit (under a 3). How are my chances realistically?

I went to lunch with a division head. We talked, and I am a big follower of art and philosophy. Turns out he was also. On top of that I have good financial skills. This is not as much about grades as you think. Networking is HUGE. Look at mergers and inquisitions for networking advice.
You're chances aren't great just sending your resume to places. They won't know who you are REALLY. Get to know some people in high up places within private equity. Do lunches, talk about things that interest you, not just finance.

I'm hopping into a PE role too, just outside Philadelphia.
I'm kind of bummed that the next few years are gonna be an 18 hour a day grind at peak season but w/e.
$120,000 a year to start, so you have me beat.
