is it really only beneficial to use robinhood if you're doing trades multiple times a week? I make trades only a few times per year usually, making long term gambles. Seems weird to not have a web interfrace and force me to use my phone..

Probably not. Robinhood is only good for people who are doing day trading with low amount of money. A regular broker would charge 7-10$ for a trade, while rh is percentage based.
