Good evening, everyone.

I really didn't know where to ask this sort of question, at least, not until I found this board, so if I conduct myself in way that makes me sound like a freshman walking in on his first fraternity house, you know why. So where to start:

I've been wanting to make money producing artwork online.

>"And then, and then he says, he says, 'I'm gonna make money selling art'! Hahahahahahahaha!!!"

That's...I, uh...sh-shut up.

Anyway, I've been wanting to produce a series of comics and games online, but the problem is, the subject matter is, to say the least, not under everyone's preferences, outside a particular community with a specific fetish in said subject matter.

>Is it pedophilia?

I can assure you, it's not pedophilia...Seriously, it's not.

Nonetheless, I want make a business off of this, but I also don't want anything that could be traced back to my real name...to be traced back to my real name.

My aim, overall, is keep a distance between my offline self from my online self so that my ancestors don't go looking back at my past and go, "Mommy, what did our great great great uncle Rodney do for a living?" and then have their mom go, "We don't speak of uncle "SplergMaster" Rodney."

I've been reading that you could use some kind of masking service to hide your real credit card information under a generated credit card number so that the only people who would know about the person receiving money under said generated card was the people handling the masking service. However, I'm not sure how private or legal that business practice is, and if there's any chance of that kind of information getting out or causing any legal problems down the line.

So to summarize, my questions are:

1. Is there a private and legal way to hide behind some sort of masking service so that there's distance myself and my online persona?
2. What are those ways?
3. I swear to God, it's not pedophilia.

why do you think here is a better place than reddit to ask questions

there is a long line of cucks with usernames who will give you real info so they can get thumbs up

why would you come here

i doubt your efficacy as a businessperson due to your choice of 4chan as your information source

please advise

sincerely,

saul
>>
I think you are sincere.

You can use whatever name you want. Artists and writers use pen names all the time. My wife's artist name is not her real name.

You can use virtual credit cards yes. That is fine. You can ship stuff to your assumed name that's fine.

You wont recieve payments to that credit card though. You need a merchant account for that.

You can register domains to your assumed name.

You can set up a DBA doing business as your new name, but there will be a record attaching your trade name to your real name. You can set up an LLC in a privacy friendly state that doesn't disclose the officer names. Wyoming, Nevada, and New Mexico come to mind.

Use this company to register your merchant account. So your paypal shows up as 'assumed name'

Or take bitcoins.

Sorry for reddit spacing my eyes are fucky right now I need whitespace

I understand. My eyesight has been getting fuzzy lately, too. Perhaps it's the glucoma settling in.

Long story.

In any case, thank you very much for taking the time to answer my questions. Since this isn't Reddit, I'll just pretend I gave you a thumbs up. Have a nice day!

You talk way too much

Go to /ic/. They are the actual people that do a living off of art.

You're going to have to do porn fetishes and fanart, and since you're an SU-fan, you probably already know what tumblr wants.

You dont need to cover you're identity. Just make a patreon or paypal you anxious aspie
>>
>>1808541
1. Make a Tumblr. Choose a theme that is good for publishing comics. You can get one for free if you look hard.
2. Publish webcomics regularly. Regularly is the keyword here.
3. Make a Facebook page, Twitter, Google Plus and any other social media you can think of.
4. Shill your comics on entire social media after each upload.
5. Your Tumblr will grow. Put up AdSense on your Tumblr.
6. Make a Patreon page. It's like an online donation box for musicians (the things street musicians do). Make them donate $1 per each issue of webcomics. Provide Patron-only artwork and etc on your Patreon feed.
7. When you become famous enough, publish your comics offline.

If it's adult content you can't get adsense though. Use Patreon and Kickstarter.

Wish me luck in return. I'm a YouTuber, but I know quite a lot about online content marketing.

And everyone knows it's furry.

Here is one furry artist doing exactly what I said here: >>1808593

Take her (it's a vagina) as your role model.

http://meeshmeat.tumblr.com/

her patreon
https://www.patreon.com/Meesh

She's not revealing the amount she gets but with 900+ patrons i'll tell you she get at least $1000 per month.
>>
>>1808593
+

also shill on Reddit, Facebook pages, and Google Plus communities as well. Also on furry forums and sites. if you get banned for spamming make another account. but usually there are boards for self-promoting on those sites.

oh also make a deviantart account and practically manage it the same as your tumblr, but with less quality content, and lead people to your tumblr from da.
>>
>>1808602
You should also include reaching out to other artists through direct chat and favoring and retweeting others. Lots of artists on tumblr are really lonely and just want to someone to talk about art with.
>>
>>1808585
Well, I do like the storyline and eveythi-

Th-that's not the point!

I just don't want this kind of subject matter coming to bite me in the ass later in life, with a headstone on my grave that reads, "Anon Anonymity, The Definition of Autism".

>>1808593
>>1808598
>>1808602

Damn! Nice info drop. Thank you very much for the advice! Personally, I prefer to keep everything on one site, you know, for convenience's sake, but I'm willing to try anything to get those shekels.

And no, it's not furry porn. God, I wish it was.

>>1808606

Wouldn't hurt to try. I mean, the worst that could happen is I get called a "privileged cis white male".

Thank you for the advice!
>>
>>1808638
>I get called a "privileged cis white male".
That never happened to me. Youll find a lot of people on tumblr are from foreign countries and dont even speak english that well. The people are who call you cis are actually autistic women above the age of 25 who draw crappy animu art or gay highschool boys. These people rarely show up and are easy to avoid.
>>
>>1808638
1. Keep the cream-top of the content on Patreon (only for your supporters to see) <- honeypot
2. Spread okay content on Tumblr/Twitter/Reddit/you name it to attract the most amount of whatever perverts you are targeting. <- picture of honeypot
(Make sure you include your Tumblr address as watermark in ALL images the you spread and shill)

Think of it as porn business (because it probably is). Porn producers spread free shit on Pornhub/redtube/xhamster etc and etc to lure people into their sites where there is paid content.
You can do that with Patreon and other sites.

>I prefer to keep everything on one site, you know, for convenience's sake,
Not possible if you want to survive in the 21st century.
>>
>>1808640
I guess what he's trying to draw is racist white domination / minority humiliation porn.
>>
>>1808671
>(Make sure you include your Tumblr address as watermark in ALL images the you spread and shill)
I forgot to add. This is because sick fucks will save your comics (if it is good) onto their computer and post on 4chan or whatever sick fuck sites without giving you credit. If you include your tumblr address in the images, it's like they are promoting your Tumblr for free across the Internet.
>>
>>1808640
>The people are who call you cis are actually autistic women above the age of 25 who draw crappy animu art or gay highschool boys.

Lulz.

>These people rarely show up and are easy to avoid.

Thank God for that.

>>1808671
>>1808673
>>1808678

Holy shit, that's some pretty good advice. You sure you don't work as a consultant?

>I guess what he's trying to draw is racist white domination / minority humiliation porn.

And then a new fetish was born.
>>
>>1808707
>You sure you don't work as a consultant?
I am aiming for passive income. Don't wanna be wage slave.
