Would you trade 2-3 years of your life to go live in a shit city overseas for a large salary say $300k+?
Still a wagecuck in the end, but can gather capital quicker to start bsns / invest.. and get out of the 9-5 slavery
>>
>>1808099
Yes. Where do I find this job?
>>
>>1808099
fuck yeah, i'm just now looking at overseas engineering jobs. the idea of making a white salary in cheap asia appeals to me immensely.
>>
>>1808246
large energy company w/ global assets, technical degree in engineering, but really can be anything that you or your company can convince the local gov't that locals can't do (for visa purposes)

>>1808294
exactly, this is a great way in my view to get out of the 9-5 quicker as well. getting paid usd in thailand w/ allowances and uplift would be epic.

easy to look back on yourself afterwards and say you'd rather have stayed and missing out on 2-3 years was a poor decision... hard to say
>>
>>1808503
have you researched it much? i'm having a hard time finding postings. i've only got 2 years in turbomachinery so options are limited since no senior/specialist positions.
>>
It's a better life, cambodia, vietnam, thailand> western countries.
>>
>>1808294
About to graduate with a mechanical engineering degree from a big state school. I really want to work in another country, have any tips for me anon?
>>
>>1808529
afraid not, see >>1808511. i'm finishing my sentence at a company stateside right now and looking at my options. you might be best off just doing 2 years at whoever will hire you. pick a place with nice buzzwords.
>>
A friend of mine has been in Baker and houghes for the last 5 years. 170K plus travel and hookers.

The downside is that being at the oi well he feels miserable and empty, plus the avaiability of his job it depends entirely on the crude price. He is down in Mexico and their department use to be 200+ people and now they are less than 40.

I am myself a Design Engineer working at Ford. 90k but vacations, family and everything going solid. STEMs are still a thing.
>>
>>1808540
stems are a meme
>>
>>1808511
yeah a bit, just a standing offer from current employer, wondering if its worth it just for the bsns startup cash in the long run

fairly certain there are opportunities if you look hard enough, IT consultants, oilfield services, etc. the ppl with the degree of knowledge likely have families and are less likely to move their lives over to a shithole so those positions generally open up more to less qualified young ppl
>>
>>1808099
you'd actually be paid less and royally fucked if you ever wanted to come back to your higher cost of life country
>>
Someone redpill me on Hawaii

I want to move there one day for asian girls and a comfy work life and less crowded city area.
>>
>>1808610
as far as i'm aware engineers don't get comfortable retirements anymore. if you come back home you'll be getting a new job and working until you die anyway.
>>
>>1808610
Yeah true, except the current offers are for african countries with some of the highest cost of living in the world (shitty infrastructure, all imported goods). I know i'll get paid less coming back home but the trade off might be worth it for a couple years, especially since there's nothing to do over there so savings rates of ~70%+ are possible
>>
>>1808614
yeah, and less in the bank than if you had stayed in your country those years
