I'm here anon. Have you heard about niche websites? Keys: Volume/Keyword CPC + Low competition and SEO

No I am, as I said, a finance noob.
The fuck is a niche and SEO?

I thought about selling stock photos to websites. I got a pretty decent camera.

I am not sufficiently informed on the stock photo business to be able to properly help you. A niche is a distinct segment of a market (let's say 1950's telephones) which although smaller than general interests, it has a dedicated follower base and usually low competition due to it being a very specific theme. You create a website/brand when you find a niche that pays well for displaying ads/amazon affiliate and has low competition. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is what you need to do to get your website to the first page and get all those people in to see your ads, which if the competition is low, is much easier than normal.

>>1808970

Right, so which would be a general path to follow having learned this?
Is building a website on squarespace/ wordpress or bluehost a good way to start?

Wordpress quite frankly beats any other option in terms of ease, time and SEO readiness.
The first step before you start anything else is keyword research - identify a golden niche like I talked about above, then find a good domain name. For let's say, black classy shoes, your name should be a combo of Brand and Keyword (google frowns upon exact match domains more and more and is focusing on branding instead) so a good option would be TheBlackShoe.com for example. On page SEO is extremely important, get Yoast SEO for wordpress (free plugin, extremely helpful) to guide you i this aspect. It's too much info to display here but minimum 500 word articles (even if they say 300 which is not true) with the right keyword and keyword density. Look into silo structure, the best and most effective way to build your site and spread the link juice throughout all of it. The next step is SEO - getting backlinks from high PA/DA (website ratings) websites to yours. Remember it's best to get only a few from reputable websites relevant to your niche than 5 thousand from irrelevant shitty websites (google ignores your site as it looks spammy). The links should contain various anchor text (the word that contains your link), look into that as well. Good luck anon, we're all going to make it.

So how would one come up with a niche thing?

I tried combing through all the shit that I like/enjoy/slightly enjoy/don't enjoy but am kinda knowledgeable about and to my dismay I'm a bit of a shithead who can't think of anything that hasn't had thousands of websites made about said interests already.

I tried some keyword research based on the few near-niche ideas I had and a few of them had low competition and a healthy amount of searches per month too, now it's just writing the shitty articles and finding some way to get the correct SEO things in there right?

FUCK, I feel way in over my head and I haven't even started writing anything yet.

That's correct. If it's something you like it's easier to write and maintain, obviously, but I've done it mostly with subjects that I knew nothing about and didn't particularly enjoy. As long as they're big money, I'm in. It might sound overwhelming at first but it gets easier and easier, your first website will probably be a disaster even if you know all the theory involved (mine was), but then the second and third will become incomparably better and successful. Writing can become tiring, especially since the articles really need to be top notch quality and with good quantity but don't give up, put on some good music and start writing as best as you can (lean about the subjects, never copy paste as google can easily detect and penalize you if you do). Every single article should target a different keyword of the same niche, don't be lazy and put 2 or 3 in the same article because you'll only be hurting yourself. I'll be around here for any questions and don't hesitate to make a thread if this dies, I'll find it and help. I would have liked if someone else did the same thing for me back when I was starting.

I mean I am into pyrotechnics and travel and shit, but the latter is somewhat over saturated in all aspects.

It seems pyrotechnics could be a niche then. I am also a chemist so I can write pretty extensively on the field.

Although you can't really sell a physical product, I hope at some point I can get $$$ from affiliate marketing etc.

So once you have a site nicely build up, what would be the next step?

>SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is what you need to do to get your website to the first page and get all those people in to see your ads

Don't I have first to make my website quite popular in order to have someone place ads in it?

Appreciate it, being financial independent and the rate at which you can scale the websites should be your motivation. Your first one can make $10 a month and the second can hit gold and be on $10k. Go out there and find out.
>>1810939
Adsense can be approved on any website as long as it has quality and already a basis of articles for quantity - even if you have 1 visitor a day. (it would be unfair otherwise as some keywords have 100 monthly searches but offer $200 per click and others have 1million but offer 0.002 cents per click). Whenever possible, amazon affiliate should be explored as well in combination with adsense.
There are a lot of tools to determine the quality of a keyword, different people like different ones so start with semrush, google keyword planner (attention, competition in google kp does not mean the comp for first results but the competitiveness between advertisers bidding for ad space in that niche), moz etc... Try a few and you'll very quickly get your favorites. I recommend crossing results from at least 3 and mapping it out in excel to then easily choose the best keywords/niches.
For the website, after all is set and done (design, logo, brand, content, etc...) you should get a facebook and google plus account (the most valuable) for the website and regularly update them. If you can't get likes, buy adverts from Facebook (they are effective and if adsense is already set up, more than pay for themselves - adjust daily ad spending accordingly). This will bring views and likes to your social media accounts and also to your website.
Then it's all about SEO as said previously, getting links from relevant reputable websites to yours. Nofollow do not help your website in rankings although it refers people to it (most websites instantly nofollow links that you post) which is still good and needed because it seems suspicious to only have Dofollow links (the ones that pass reputation and help you rank).

cont.
The basis for any SEO campaign is to get a few web 2.0s (tumblr, weebly, blogger) up, post a few related content or repost and then after a while post a self made top quality article about your niche and add a keyword in it pointing to your website/page you want to rank. Keep the link to 1 per tumblr account or it will send a spam flag, change the anchor text too (exact "black leather shoes", related "great formal leather shoes", brand "TheBlackShoe" and random "check THIS website") There are a few nuances, search for web 2.0s SEO and you'll go more into detail. Then there is blog posting (do not spam, a few will do) and forum posting (better than blog but you more time consuming as you have to be active for a few days and usually need 20 or so posts before being able to link out). Use google engine operators (inurl:keyword etc...) to find good places to post. Always check the website's PA/DA mozrank and such before posting, it's only good if they are well rated. Then there's PBN (private blog networks) and 301, where you buy old expired domains related (if unrelated it will hurt your ranking severely) to your niche, that already had good reputation and simply 301 redirect them to your site. This passes the previous rep to your new website, do it only with 1 website or you will get penalized. This last one is incredibly effective but usually not needed if the competition is low.

When they're well done you can't spot them (excluding obvious amazon affiliate review sites). Neither can google. That's the objective, to make it seem like they are completely natural, which they mostly are except from the doing it for money part (aka ranking fast and building backlinks instead of naturally over the years) which google dislikes. Image extremely related, a great basis for a website silo structure. I recommend all pages and doing parent/child structures due to organization and very good URLs. "www.theblackshoe.com/men/formal/leather"
all the keywords are in the url in a very easy to understand way both for the user and the searchbots. (men is the parent page, formal the child and so on)

As a sidenote: I tried to do this with a team - a writer, a general purpose guy and someone else dedicated to SEO. It didn't work. While it's tiring and very time consuming to do everything on your own I do recommend it, it's very hard to find someone that can keep up with your standards of quality and haste to get things done. Plus, you get all the monthly profit (which I wouldn't mind sharing if I actually found good people). Godspeed and remember, don't give up. The first months (or first website) may bring in 0 but keep going and it will work eventually, I promise. I've been there.

PoC is for me to test the feasibility of my writing skills, website organization and SEO. I intend to purchase a catchy domain and track the traffic once I'm done; the site will be initally hosted on Wordpress.
The subject itself is far from a narrow niche but pretty obscure or rather unknown to most normalfags: motorcycles and everything around them (all about licensing, gear, rides, maintenance and repair, lifestyle, and roadcraft) all rolled into one digestible site
I'm already part of several networks that will aid me in making the site be known (faceberg, twatter and offline). I also know several managers of regional moto-related stores both online and offline who can advertise on my site after/if I've accumulated sufficient and steady traffic.
In Europe motorcycle culture ranges from mediterranean commuters to enthusiasts across the continent, the former use it as the most accessible means of transport, the latter are pretty middle class so the market is big and well-segmented

even if it fails, which is a high likelihood, I'll still have a nice brain dump and actual experience since I've never made anything of the sort

Good luck faggots actually making a niche site though. You need to be an expert in your topic of choice before even considering making a website. Otherwise your a poser cuck, and even if you are an expert, you may have competition, so again, good luck.
