> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
Jewish tricks? No, and please refrain from the antisemitism! Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> How is it free?
"People" invest your settled funds when you're not using them, just like banks.

> Is this the place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
Are you aware how small this community is? Better to try stocktwits or r/wallstreetbets

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using stockcharts.com, finviz, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

kek, put me in the screencap

Use these threads to find these rinky-dink little stocks and bet small amounts on them. More than half will lose you money. Maybe 1 in 10 will make you 50% or more.

Ask yourself:
>When was this stock first mentioned? Did I miss the boat?
>Look at the graph for the day. Does it look like it already popped?
>Look at the graph for the week. If you leave your money in this overnight, will it lose you a lot?
>Look at the graph for 1 month, 3 months, one year. Is this stock operating abnormally above its usual price, or did it have a reasonably steady climb to get to where it is now?
>Look at the volume compared to the average volume. Does this stock look like it is getting more attention than usual? Is this the first day or two it has gotten that much attention?

Use these questions and your judgment to vet the picks that people suggest here. You are trying to maximize your opportunities that someone calls out a stock, you see it early, and it hasnt begun a launch yet

Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. (NYSE: NAK) has been made aware of a short and distort campaign by Kerrisdale Capital which has recently published a negative opinion piece the central theme of which is that Northern Dynasty's massive copper/gold project in Alaska is uneconomic. Northern Dynasty will be responding with a preliminary rebuttal which will appear on its website by the end of the week. The rebuttal will expose the many inaccuracies and outright misstatements in the Kerrisdale report. Northern Dynasty's Pebble Project is indisputably one of the world's largest undeveloped copper/gold deposits with a potential mine life which is measured in decades. Kerrisdale cites no technical or scientific studies whatsoever and relies on many unnamed persons who were purported to have been involved with the project several years ago. Investors should not rely on the Kerrisdale report and should await the Company's detailed response now in progress.

>>
>>1798434
Markets are open 9:30 am to 4pm
After hours is 9 am to 6 pm
>>
>>1798434
The common folk goyim can only trade 9:30am - 4:00pm.

Pre-market trades can run as early as 5:00am-9:30am

After hours are 4:00pm-8:00pm

Basically big money manipulates the markets before and after each day and we have a window in the middle to play our games
>>
>>1798434
You really shouldn't be trading stocks if you are honestly this stupid.
>>
>>1798406
The amazing thing is that bagholders will be reassured by this. There's no technical data on the project because Northern Dynasty has been dragging their feet.

Look up the company's own publication. In January 2016 they projected the prefeasability study would be done some time in 2016. As of November it was projected to be completed in 2017.

With no prefeasability study, there's no evidence that their "world's largest deposit" can be developed economically.

Compared to a cash account, you don't have to wait three days after selling to reinvest your money, but you can only day trade three times within five trading days. Which one is better sort of depends on how you like to trade, but I think most people here (and probably most Robinhood users) use Instant.

Also, they announced earnings after-hours yesterday.

Could that have been the cause of the drop? They beat earnings expectations, though.

Also here is a 3-month chart. I don't really know how to read this, but have they "peaked" out?
>>
>>1798538
Yeah, Robinhood said they beat their EPS by $0.09

Isn't that a good thing, though? Why didn't their stock price shoot up after beating the consensus estimate?
>>
>>1798532
BRKR just had an earnings call, which more often than not will make the stock lose value even if it is good or better than projected estimates.

Your stock lost value in after hours because big traders with special privileges/people in the finance world/large capital companies/i dont fuckin know buy and sell stocks in AH and pre-market, and they have a large impact on the price of the stock.

As far as getting rid of it, don't. You don't lose money or make money until you sell a stock. I rode TWTR up then mistakenly back down through an earnings report. Up 20, then down 40. I'm riding it back up to a little over what I bought it at, no worries. BRKR is the same. Pretty stable goes up and down but spends a lot of time around the price it is at now. Don't sell for a loss unless you think that money would be easier to take back at a loss and reinvest while making back what you lost.
>>
>RGSE

Pls.
>>
>>1798546
>>1798544
Also I wanted to add that BRKR is different from the penny stocks kicked around in these threads. Leaving money in some of those will let your money slowly bleed out or halve eventually due to the nature of the companies and the volatility of the stocks.

If you leave money in BRKR, because of its price, history, and reputation, you know it'll go back up eventually. You are now just a shareholder.
>>
>>1798544
Earnings reports include a lot more data than just EPS.
In this case, Bruker beat estimates, but revenue was still down year-on-year and sales are declining in some markets.
>>
>>1798546
>>1798553
>more often than not will make the stock lose value even if it is good or better than projected estimates
That's interesting, I thought the price would jump if a company beat earnings estimates.

Thanks for the tips, I'll hold on to BRKR.

If you don't mind, would you be able to tell me more about educated trading? Right now I'm going in blind and I have no idea what good indicators are and what bad indicators are.

Should I be reading 8-K reports? Should I just trust the marketwatch analyst charts?

I think GIG announced their earnings yesterday as well, but their price jumped 12% in the morning. Is there any logical explanation for why GIG jumped 12% while barely meeting the earnings estimate, but BRKR fell even after an earnings surprise?

I see, thanks.
What should I be reading if I want to do my own detailed research on a company's sales and revenue changes?

If just starting, you need to separate what is in this thread from long-term investment. I was in the same boat as you a few months ago.

Basically, I have several thousand in a 401K and a Roth IRA. In the Roth IRA, buy stocks from blue chip companies, ETFs, mutual funds, or stocks that pay dividends. These are the investments that gain value over time that gets rolled back into itself.

Depending on your income, you probably want to open a Roth IRA for actual investing, due to the relaxations on taxes. You'll need to do some research. Then buy things like SDIV (for the dividends) or a mutual fund with a target date (targeted to when you retire. Through fidelity, I have FFFFX). You can also buy big blue chip companies that you know will be around. $1,000 in AAPL, $2,000 in AMZN, etc. These are the kinds of investments that you will put into something like a Roth IRA or an individual account and let it sit for years. When you own a stock for over a year, you now pay half the taxes on the gains you make on it. It is now a long term position.

NOW what happens here is short term trading of highly volatile stocks. You may have felt uneast seeing a 1% loss on BRKR, because short term trading is about buying dips and selling tips. When I buy or sell stock in these threads, I probably will not hold for over a week, and will always try to make gains and then take my money fast. When you pay taxes, you'll have to pay short term capital gains on those gains. This is double the tax rate you'll pay on your longer positions.

I'd recommend putting 5-10k into a Roth or another long term investment and buy some safe mutual funds or stocks. I just bought SDIV today.

When you have a pulse on how stock trading works, put 200-1000 in a Robinhood account and try some short term trades. It's a blast.

Hope this helped, sorry if anything is unclear. Type it in one go.

Thank you very much for the detailed response.

I'm a student right now, and have about 3k to my name (in a checking account), and I'm not employed either, and I don't know if it's worth getting a Roth IRA for me right now.

After I finish school and have a job, I will certainly dump lots of money into a retirement account.

For now though, I am interested in getting a feel for short-term trading. I put $100 in robinhood, and I'm practicing with that much.

I have a couple questions:
What news sources do established traders use for picking good companies to trade?
Is it worth watching Bloomberg TV or CNBC?
Also, most of what I see on investopedia and marketwatch is geared towards long-term investing. Could you recommend any similar sites that focus on short-term trading and strategies?

I googled stocks that are involved with lithium ion batteries. ARTX was cheap and involved pretty heavily with gubbermints n sheeit. Yahoo was also shilling it a bit.

So, I bought in weeks ago, lost a few bucks and got out but kept watching. Yesterday it looked about ready for a run based on its charts so I bought in again and held until about 10 minutes ago for ~30 profit.

Short answer, combination or technicals and fundamentals and getting to know it for a couple weeks.

UGAZ & DGAZ

How do you trade these? Daytrade? Long? Etc
>>
>>1799005

You can either daytrade them or go long and ride the up/down trend

I usually don't bother to trade them day to day but rather ride them week to week, following the natural gas trend. I sat in dgaz for a month when natural gas hit 3.8. Same goes for gold, if gold is bullish I accumulate JNUG on dips and ride the waves until the trend looks to go against gold, at that point I take profit and walk away to look for a JDST opportunity. To stress over every 1% move in gold or natural gas is the road to madness, be correct on the trend and you will be fine. In march I'll probably switch to ugaz

>dat USD comeback

if this continues later this week will be the real dip for gold, if you're not convinced on jnug gainz today see if the dxy hits 102 over the next few days or USD/JPY 115.xx for practically free money

dxy 102 is not sustainable and will see a sizable correction until yellen actively starts talking about rate-raising, then the challenge will be about finding the right time to do JDST in case it's a bunch of fakeouts just like last year
>>
New to this general, what is this ceru meme and why should I buy it

you should use blue chips or indexes to hedge against memes

I do 80% in VOO, VO, and VTWO

the rest is ford trading memes
>>
The most important thing I´ve learned here is don't try to force a meme buy everyday or even every other day, the memes are like a river let it flow to you don´t try to build a Panama canal out of Peruvian rootbark

In the event of another recession, would it make sense to construct a heavily-leveraged portfolio to make exponential gains on the market recovery?

Amazing day. I Finally broke even after selling so much oil stocks back in november.

Realized why its hard to beat the market. Three stocks I have outperform it, most underperform anf one is down about 35%. That last bitch if only I never bought it or it at least went toward price target.

Just gonna bag hold bros.
