I'm in advisory, so probably can't say much about other service lines. The work mostly comes from engagements (internal/external audit/review as agreed with the clients). The work load can vary from super busy to chill af. The clients are charged on an hourly basis and the rates vary from graduates to partners. I personally enjoy the work but in terms of salary, it's actually less competitive than other major firms especially IB.

Senior manager hours - $985p/h

Grad auditors are on a bit more than $28 an hour. But it changes from office to office. I know that Wollongong grads are on a little less than us Sydney grads

Basically in busy periods I'll spend my days out at a client office. Doing things like discussion with management to understand this or that or your more standard accounting stuff like mapping a trial balance and running analysis.
One thing I will say. If the idea of having a desk. A place to keep your stuff and put up pictures and shit. Tax is for you not audit. And kpmg is not for you cause we did away with set desks this year

I work at Deloitte because of biz actually. I got very interested in cryptos because of memes, then into blockchain. Then got a good idea and went to a hackathon to try it out.

I didnt win the hackathon but deloitte was a sponsor and loved my stuff. I now work in their blockchain department with IBM.

Upward mobility is absolute trash, most partners and directors come from different companies (largely other big 4 companies), too much loyalty is looked down upon like if youre not getting headhunted or getting offers constantly there must be something wrong with you, which in a way is true but eh

I work at PwC Legal, the experience you get at the firm is incredible. However, you honestly aren't expected to stay there for more than a few years. I've seen a lot of mobility between the big 4, that's more or less how you move upwards and get a decent wage increase.

It's fucking hard though, I hate law.
