Is Finance really the way to get money? I will try to get an overseas security contract job, but I doubt they are hiring non special operations people, its not a free-for-all like it used to be.
A friend of mine I trained with (he is National Guard) was in IB and he said the work-life balance sucked and if he can do it all over again he would do Quantitative Analysis so he could learn to invest better and also have a life.

This whole fucking myth that you are going to be fucking rich just by learning how to invest your money. Or work in finance. You are trying to earn some money in a highly competitive market. At the same time this market seems to have its own rules. The stocks of companies losing money outperform the market. Some hedge fund sells its shares and you are losing money. You are competeting against machines doing more trades in a second than you in a whole week.
Fuck finance. Go do something you have more control over.
Learn to code and offer your services. Learn some data science shit and offer your services. Import some niche product and sell it. Export some niche product and sell it. Be a wage cuck and work on your business on the side.
Just look how people earn momey today. Look at YouTube and all the bullshit content. Prank videos, podcasts, game and movie reviews, streaming games, uploading music to your own channel and clickbait people with some half naked bitch. All those webcomic shit like xkcd or Cyanide and happiness. Craftmanship is another one. High quality leather shit like belts or wallets. Customized sneaker. Building PCs with some LED shit and sell it. Distill your own Gin like the Monkey 47 guys (really great product by the way). There are even some barbers making good money, cutting your hair like a fucking CNC machine. I have a buddy who specialised in tiling earning really good money because he knows his shit. At the end your bathroom looks like one at a luxury hotel suite in Dubai.
Fuck finance. You can earn good money with countless other occupations. And if you are not an idiot even become rich.

Use your GI bill for whatever mah dood. It's like 3 more years of welfare. You could always do law school and then find some boring job proofing contracts or patents. Pretty sure that's a comfy boring 40 hours a week. If you want to make any real money you're going to be pulling 60+ hours a week for years.
Also be sure to file with the VA for disability. You are clearly disabled and if you've got a CIB 40% is kind of like a courtesy rating. Turns out to be an extra 6-7 grand a year.

Also there are still plenty of overseas gigs but they pay like 60k a year and usually involve some kind of support job. My buddy has been doing it on and off for years and it's a mixed bag. Some outfits are supplying guns to shitty people under the table, securing human trafficking operations, and supporting warlords who are basically providing slaves to meet US security demands.
It's not the get rich quick scheme that it was 10 years ago but if you enjoy the deployment lifestyle you can still get your fix.
