Hello /biz/, I'm from Bosnia and I'm interested in what would be the best way to go about getting this passive income which would get me well off into the higher middle class here.
Gathering somewhere around 50k USD to purchase 2 apartments in Bosnia, rent them out and get the money is my current plan, and later these would be used for any potential kids I have not to be homeless, and as a basis for their own start.
I wanted to get some opinions on how viable/safe this is and also if there was a better way to get to that level of passive income per month so I could dedicate myself to blacksmithing/artistic welding/knifemaking completely.

I'm already working full time as a welding man, 6 days a week so the thread is more about me getting the money in a few years after I move to work in Germany. I wanted to know if there was a better investment for approx 50k USD I'm aiming for. I wrote articles, worked as a broker but none of these jobs were truly bearable for long as I was too stationary and did nothing but sit in front of a PC all day.

We have different standards for rich, where I live with 500$ per month I can eat a pound of caviar just by spending as a fraction of the money on it.
Basically 500$ month is big money here especially if it's a passive income.

Curious, which real estate sites would you use to find your apartments?
Also, is your plan to score big when you join the EU, and in the meantime rent out to richer tourists (airbnb, whatever)?

Nope, just earn enough so I can invest and retire early and humbly.
No plan on making it big whatsoever since I have no wish to do so, only live the rest of my life in peace fishing and metalworking an odd thing or two when I feel like it.
Renting out to students most likely and since apartments are fairly cheap here one could get a smaller one for somewhere around 20-30k USD no problem, on local billboards.

Not too impressed by the prices though. A 100K euro place in Sarajevo still looks like shit. I guess there are good places around as well though.
