It's just not a position you can leverage I to getting anything better. Best is to move into district manager, which isn't even that much better.

As store manager, you'll be filling in for all your shitty employees and working to pick up all the loose ends. Plus corporate will be on your back to reduce labor costs and increase sales. You'll work long and irregular hours. Your store performance will always be on your mind.

Retail management is tough work with low respect and low compensation.
