Is nursing a viable career?

no. become a doc
only if you have massive tits
>>1792560
I do but it should probably be specified that it helps if they are on a girl.

Yes, but dont do it if you are a guy. I was a RN, and I worked in long term care and a hospital. Everything will be your fault if you are a guy, and between fucking a different nurse every 4 months you will be defending your job 24/7 because 90% will be plotting against you because of the animosity females have built up from shit at home and the shit they take from male patients and male doctors and having to deal with each others drama.
Its like working in an office where there is that one female co-worker who cant commit to a work schedule because shes got 2 kids so shes constantly calling people to cover for her so she can attend her snotnosed kids' karate tournament.... except multiply that times 30, and make it so there are only 2 guys in said office and you are one of them.
Also, the pay is shit because women dont negotiate pay and there is a surplus of immigrant nurses willing to accept $45k a year before taxes.

Yes if you specialize.
And if you're okay being on your feet all the time and being talked down to by doctors.
It's a decent career.
Not everyone can be a nurse, it's a pretty tough job. Great pay and benefits, but you're front line for all the bitching and moaning. You're also first at bat for anything contagious coming into the hospital, so hopefully you're not the unlucky one in ten million that gets stuck with next ebola/zika/anthrax patient.
That being said, if you are good at being a nurse it's a very rewarding job. I would recommend it only if you truly have a passion for helping people.

Only if you dont mind bed pans and body fluids.
>>1792556
become a med tech instead
you make more than nurses do and you'll be more in demand

Work in a mental hospital

Yes. Especially if you're a big strong dude.
I worked in an emergency room with an EMT-P certification, I got hired to help with trauma and mostly took vitals and IV bags, but it paid a salary and had nice hours, anyways... and me and the murses were always helping to subdue a belligerent patient or to lift heavv patients, ect.
Anyways, I got out of that field because I hate people and it's very people-orientied. Also the pay was kinda shitty. I know a lot of baby-boomers are supposed to get sick and die so everyone expects a medical boom, but I don't believe the industry is growing. I think it peaked already and there will be a glut of young medical professionals with those 2 or 3 year certifications like nursing or EMT or those specialists like X-Ray, nuke med, cardiograph, ect.
People are living healthier and most of the baby boomers are dead will will die shortly, thank god.

Ever get an acutely psychotic dude that you have to restrain while they stick him with haldol? Good times

Trama nurse. Mid 200s.
>>1792971
>most the boomers will die soon
Good fucking riddance
>>1792560
True. I have a male friend that's done well, moving up to transplant coordinator, but has huge moobs.

It's not bad. On the plus side you'll be pretty safe from automation. Robots handling bedridden/handicapped patients just isn't feasible, not only from a mechanical perspective but from a personal one as well.
Sick people want other people to care, not soulless plastic machines.
I did it. Working with only women is hell. They are drama machines.
I have a BSEE. Thinking about shifting careers b/c job market sucks for EEs.
