From a purely Economic standpoint, what are the arguments and benefits for Britain leaving the EU?
>>
the pros are its freed from protectionist blanket tax and trade rules

the cons are its not free from these rules if it still wants to trade with europe afterwards

the same as any other time someone backs out of a contract for something they need.

they might renegotiate and get better terms in future.

probably won't, but they might.

In my opinion, it's hard to say. Looking at it objectively, it seems like they are shooting themselves in the foot from an economics perspective but what most people don't realize is that Brexit has more to do with long term sovereignty than immediate economic health. The unification of these EU states under a single umbrella/government has the potential to harm the United Kingdom - or at least that is what the conservative parties believe. Brexit is a reaction to the long term picture.

I was looking at Farage's speech from a few days ago and it finally struck me what the conservatives are so rightfully upset about. You have this shitbag EU Parliament, some of which can't even speak fucking english, trying to twist the UK's future for their agenda. The UK is a very powerful country and doesn't need retards from Slovenia telling them how to run the show. UK's reluctance to take on the Euro is even further evidence that their position is rooted in truth at least to some degree.

Trade with the EU has been going down year on year and that trend will continue regardless. Now less than 44% with the EU and at a significant trade deficit. Majority and growing amount of trade with the rest of the world and has been at surplus most years.

Only 6% of UK companies export to the EU but the other 94% of companies have the full burden of EU regulations - which is a major financial burden. This partly explains why small to medium size businesses have suffered so much in the UK. The EU is really geared to favouring large conglomerates.

There are over 12,000 regulations to trading in EU. There's also a lot of internal tarrifs that most people know nothing about; for example, garlic has a 100% tarrif to export into EU to protect French garlic growers.
Better off out

How dare they make us not put carcinogens in food and print the gram weight on the package!

>12,000 regulations to trading in EU
Throw in an arbitrary number to make this seem grave.

> garlic has a 100% tarrif to export into EU to protect French garlic growers.
And rightly so. I bet you did enjoy your clam picking off lands-end to be protected against Chinese prisoner labour in China, and your Shetland wool not to be made in Nepal. Oops, looks like you're gonna have to write some new regulations, Dave.

Bet the Greeks love being filled with refugees trying to get to Germany, or the Spanish having huge youth unemployment because they do not have control over their own currency

imo leaving the eu is going to hurt britain economically. however, the eu had turned from a trade group into a political pact. britain decided it was worth the financial hit to have its sovereignity. id expect an increase in trade with america, and an agreement with individual eu companies that will bring it back to normal, or even higher in the next 10-15 years. but short term its gonna fucking suck for any britbongs
>>

>Some regulations are good so all regulations are good

I can see why they wanted out.
>>
>>1791867
Neither of those are arguments for Britain to leave the EU
>>
It's not going to help them economically, it was about freedom from globalist rule not economics. In past generations people had to give their lives and safety to fight for freedom. This generation will have to take a hit in their wallets to fight for freedom, since the globalists don't fight guns and tanks anymore, they fight with central banks and cultural indoctrination.

From 1997 to 2000 there were dire warnings about the UK not joining the Euro

In the long run the UK will be better off out, pragmatism always defeats blind faith

British Pound depreciate aginst other currencies, which actually helps British manufacturing industry. Other major economies have been trying to do the same by manipulating their cash rates. For GB, they don't even need to do that. When you factor a fact that Britain is 5th largest manufacturing country in the world, the economic benefits of Brexit was stronger than the economic benefits of staying in the EU.

However, this was a special case for Britain as they have been using their own currencies, unlike other EU countries who have given up their currencies for dysfunctional Euro.

For instance, I don't think France will be benefited from Frexit as they don't have industrial fundamentals as Britain and they have been benefited of the current arrange of the EU.
