for 10k you can sell (costume jewlery) from a mall kiosk
>>
>>1776738
doesn't the mall charge a huge fee for that though
>>
Could also start a concrete business
>>
>>1776738
Costume jewelry? Cant imagine people would be willing to buy
>>
>>1776777
Nice trips
>>
>>1776743
yeah, probably 10k
>>
>>1776798
Who's going to buy jewelry at a kiosk though
>>
couod you start a hardwood flooring business
>>
>>1776805
any girl aged 12-30 who isnt wandering around alone. have you ever been to a mall?
>>
>>1776809
Yeah never seen a jewelry kiosk though we have a jared ir whatever but thats it. Where would I get the jewelry?
>>
>>1776822
the costume jewlery part was a meme, but you create a demand for a product and you sell it from a kiosk

people are walking around the mall either hungry, looking for something to spend their money on or tired wishing they were shopping from home

if people are hungry, sell them something cheap, nutritious and doesn't come with a shitton of garbage to throw out

if people want something to spend their money on, think about the things people spend their money on these days (clothes, electronics, (food), other)

if you want to save people a trip to the mall (which is a pain in the ass itself, give away coupons to a online store that are 50% and free shipping, whatever you are selling people will find a way to use that discount and free shipping)

mall kiosks only get shit on because people forget how to use them properly

and incase you really do want to sell costume jewlery, you find trendy stuff on etsy and tumblr and you resell at a 40% markup

> open mall kiosk
> just a bunch of tablets with Amazon app open
> collect logins and sell to China
>>
>>1776886
Alright thanks for the advice brother
>>
>>1776886
>tfw your scam starting hurting you BBB reputation and you have to keep moving locations before the FBI starts doing dummy runs on your kiosk
>tfw lawyer fees and bail are eating up your profits
>>
>>1776738
I've actually been considering this. Literally every time I look at the kiosks at the mall, its nothing more than cheap Chinese garbage that people pull off of aliexpress.

I see shit like this selling for $15-20 a pop at every mall.

Seems like it would be an easy way to ride fads.

>you find trendy stuff on etsy and tumblr and you resell at a 40% markup
Or you find that same stuff on aliexpress and sell at a 300% mark up.
Same exact product, retail price remains the same (as your 40%) but your margin is better.
>>
selling retail to the public is one of the worst businesses to be in, but it's the best most of /biz/ can think of.

I like how real suggestions get ignored-

is a hardwood flooring business really gonna make me money though? how much am i paying for materials and how long would it take for me to be in the green again?

i know someone who is doing drywall installation and he's not really making anything worthwhile, not doing it but actually owns the business itself
>>
>>1776732

Pimping.

Use the money for a Cadillac
>>
>>1776891
kek this actually sounds legal.

People are dumb enough to put in their login information without knowing why.

In general construction and building maintenance contractors make about ten times as much profit as retailers of the same size.

so if you're making 6% profit selling crap in a mall you can just as easily make 60% installing floors. Yes, there is the cost of supplies, the client pays that.

It should take you about 5 minutes to get in the green because you don't buy supplies until your client pays you to buy supplies.

Yes, I know there's a 300% markup on some retail goods, that doesn't mean you'll make a 300% profit after you subtract your lease and other expenses. You'll make less than 10% at best, and about 3% if you're average.

retail sucks hairy ass. Yes, you can lose money running a construction company, but you can do that in retail too. It's up to you to know how to run a profitable shop. Before you can do that you need to know which small businesses actually are profitable.

retail isn't one of them.
>>
>>1776776
>>1776808
Sounds better than getting a kiosk at least then I don't have to worry about shoplifting
>>
>>1776960
no, you have to worry about clients not paying you thousands of dollars, and you have to worry about getting sued for potentially millions of dollars.

one of these things is covered by insurance. The other one is what liens are for.

any biz has potential areas for loss, often fatal ones. Theft is an operating expense, just like legal fees, liability insurance, and insurance for loss from fire or flood.

What you want to be looking at is overhead, profit margins, and cost to enter. Selling retail in a mall kiosk is extremely expensive for relatively little profit.
>>
>>1776776
How does one start and get into this business, and aren't there thousands of other people in a given city doing the same thing?
