it is solid upper middle class, but if you break it down by the hours the salary is pajeet tier. Almost everyone burns out and moves to different fields before 30 years old. It is like a stepping stone into other stuff for most people, but not a good career. If it didn't have the prestige nobody sane would want the jobs.

The money is beyond middle class if you do it right, the whole point of it is paying with your best time of your live - your 20's by completly just working every day to get rich til 30 and then live well til death investing what you earned casually yourself. Of course these guys are still slaves for the banks who make more money from them but they wouldn't make the same cash without the bank. It's a legit choice but far from the perfect live.
