Be that as it may, but I doubt they have half a million in the stock market they're comfortable pulling out. It's very unlikely that just when AMD was at its lowest was coincidentally also the perfect time to pull out of half of their investments.

How involved are you in their investments? Do you know what they hold, when they bought, their ROI, their weighing, their short- and long-term strategies, their goal with their portfolio? Any decent investor will follow a long-term plan and not throw half of it out of the window just because someone said so.

Be reasonable here. Open an account at a broker, play around with your own money. See if you can beat your parents' portfolio's performance. When you're 3-4 years in and successful, show it to your parents and ask for a few ten grands of playmoney to expand. And if you do well, maybe in a decade you get more money or even access to manage theirs.

Put yourself into their shoes - your good-for-nothing son who apparently thinks you're a retard, even though you're comfortably sitting on a million bucks, badgers you to invest half a million into a meme stock. It's surreal, entirely unreasonable. Fix your relationship with your parents, build expertise and then just take over when you've earned it, when you deserve it. Nobody's gonna hand you anything if you're being an asshole about it.
