Should I just go ahead and get this thing to get my shit for free? If I do, I'm just gonna cut it up when it comes because I'm not really looking for another credit card.

i have 25 credit cards
120000 combined credit limit
i use the amazon store card for amazon 5% and citi double for everything else 2%
pay off your credit in full and on time every month and you get a 2-5% discount on everything in life. great deal.
the reason businesses like amazon and citi allow these discounts is that most people that use credit are niggers that carry a rotating balance and get reamed on interest. don't be a nigger OP! (tm)

he's asking if he should take a hard hit to his credit to save $40. didn't even mention the cash back feature
>>1768247
It's bad for credit???
>>1768247
what's wrong with hard hits to your credit to build credit? i have 45 on my account, credit score about 780. it would be 850 but the total average credit age is under a year.
OP should be getting the 5% amazon card and saving thousands over his lifetime and boosting his credit limit
thinking about $40 and one time temporary hard checks used to build credit is nigger mentality

stays on your credit report for 2 years

he wasn't asking if he should get the card for the cash back. he was going to chop it up and never use it so he could get a $50 gift card
if he was asking if he should get a 5% cb amazon card because he's a frequent amazon shopper and he always pays off balances - of course it's worth the hard check.

If you go to r/churning they post a lot better deals and guides for milking some rewards. There's plenty of cards that offer $100 after $500 spend with the occasional $200 promo.
Well, fuck me...

...okay...
...yes OP...you should do the thing to get week's groceries money..sure...
just hope that someday you actively spam credit card applications to gin your credit score to 850, also no need to cut up your credit cards, they don't bite unless your an illiterate nigger keep them in this notebook

True, but not complete. A hard pull will adversely affect your credit score usually for only the first six months, and usually by very little. I did a hard pull this month (Amazon Prime Visa, fyi) and it lowered by score by about 7 points. Also, the maximum amount of time any pull can affect your score is one year. After 1 year and before dropping off at 2 years it only counts against you by being included in the total number of hard pulls.

i just want to be able to refinance my mortgage to 2.5-3% someday, 850 will help i assume

By the time you get that close to 850 you'll realize the extra good boy points don't really matter.
